METHODS: Retrospective study of 73 children that had been submitted to contact lens fit at the "Universidade Federal de São Paulo". This study analyzed sex distribution, age, diagnosis, indications and contact lens fitted at first examination.

BACKGROUND: The study was conducted to determine the magnitude and pattern of refractive errors in order to provide facilities for its management.
MATERIALS AND METHOD: A prospective study of 3601 eyes of 1824 consective patients was conducted. Information obtained included age, sex, occupation, visual acuity, type and degree of refractive error. PURPOSE: To evaluate a new surgical approach for the treatment of pellucid marginal corneal degeneration (PMCD).
METHODS: Prospective, noncomparative, interventional case series. Ten eyes of 10 consecutive patients were included in the series. Inclusion criteria were a clinical diagnosis of PMCD, topographic astigmatism >10 D, and contact lens intolerance.
