Introduction Otitis media with effusion (OME) involves the accumulation of fluid in the middle ear and is a common cause of hearing loss. While nasal congestion is thought to contribute to OME by affecting eustachian tube function, the role of nasal airway resistance remains unclear. PURPOSE: To investigate the effect of thymic stromal lymphopoietin on the development of chronic otitis media with effusion MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was conducted on 40 patients who had adenoidectomy operation. The objects were divided into two groups. Group 1; adenoidectomy with chronic serous otitis media, group 2; adenoidectomy without chronic serous otitis media. Granulomatosis with polyangitis is a rare granuloma forming necrotizing vasculitis, which involves mainly the respiratory tract and renal system. Otologic involvement may occur primarily as chronic serous otitis media and chronic silent mastoiditis with conductive hearing loss and may rarely lead to sensorineural hearing loss requiring cochlear implantation. This case describes a patient with granulomatous poylangitis with profound sensorineural hearing loss who underwent subtotal petrosectomy with cochlear implantation.

OBJECT: The aim of this study was to report the results in a consecutive series of patients who had undergone an endoscopic endonasal approach (EEA) for drainage of a petrous apex cholesterol granuloma (CG).

Chronic serous otitis media is a common problem in the daily routine of the otorhinolaryngologist. In the majority of cases, the cause is related to dysfunction of the eustachian tube due to viral or bacterial rhinitis and occasionally to nasopharyngeal tumors. Cow's milk allergy (CMA) is nowadays a common problem in Thai children. We reviewed medical records of patients with CMA from the Department of Pediatrics at King Chulalongkom Memorial Hospital of the past 10 years, from 1998 to 2007. The criteria for the diagnosis of CMA included: elimination of cow's milk formula resulting in improvement of symptoms, and: recurrence of symptoms after reintroduction of cow's milk by oral challenge or by accidental ingestion. Of the 382 children with a diagnosis of CMA, 168 were girls and 214 were boys. The average age at the time of diagnosis was 14.8 months
