A variety of congenital and acquired disorders result in pediatric conductive hearing loss. Malformations of the external auditory canal are invariably associated with malformations of the middle ear space and ossicles. Isolated ossicular malformations are uncommon. Syndromes associated with external and middle ear malformations are frequently associated with abnormal development of first and second pharyngeal arch derivatives. Chronic inflammatory disorders include cholesteatoma, cholesterol granuloma, and tympanosclerosis.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the results of transoral ventral bulla osteotomy (TOVBO) in cats.
ANIMALS: 13 client-owned cats treated by TOVBO between February 2016 and February 2019.
PROCEDURES: Medical records of cats with a diagnosis of middle ear disease (MED) that underwent TOVBO were reviewed. The procedure was similar to the one described for dogs. Antrochoanal polyp is usually a benign solitary mass lesion originated from maxillary sinus mucosa and emerging through maxillary ostium. We report a rare case of antrochoanal polyp and migrated dental implant in the ipsilateral maxillary sinus.
