BACKGROUND Hemangiomas are relatively common in the head and neck but rarely involve the external auditory canal (EAC). BACKGROUND: Jugulotympanic paraganglioma (JTP), also known as glomus jugulare tumor, is a neuroendocrine neoplasm. Although it represents <0.5% of head-and-neck tumors, it demonstrates significant local aggressiveness due to its tendency to infiltrate bone, vascular structures, and cranial nerves. Due to the hypervascular nature of these tumors, preoperative embolization has become an important surgical adjunct. The retrolabyrinthine approach provides adequate exposure of the jugular foramen while preserving the facial nerve without mandatory transposition.

BACKGROUND: Strawberry gingivitis is a characteristic but under-recognised oral manifestation of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), with potential for long-term sensory damage often overlooked.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 60-year-old woman with strawberry gingivitis, cough, and hearing loss fulfilled the 2022 ACR/EULAR classification criteria for GPA (score 13), with the diagnosis established through integrated clinical, serological, radiological, and histopathological assessment. Adults generate causally structured situation models during comprehension and use them to predict upcoming referents. In an eye-tracked comprehension task, 36-month-olds (N = 115) did the same, using story-provided information to predict which character could plausibly be mentioned next. In critical sentences, such as "She asked the goose with the boots to play with her," children treated "the goose" as unambiguous even in a story with two geese, looking toward the target animal before disambiguating information arrived if one goose was described as having left the scene earlier in the story.
