A new case of lymphocytic interstitial pneumonitis developed in the course of a persistent generalized lymphadenopathy syndrome is reported. Of 22 patients with hairy cell leukemia, 18 developed life-threatening infections. The histopathological diagnosis of Yersinia enterocolitica infections in mesenteric lymph nodes is described on the basis of biopsy material from 14 cases collected at the Lymph Node Registry in Kiel. Ultrastructural and immunohistologic findings in a nodular variant of Hodgkin's disease with lymphocytic predominance, called nodular paragranuloma, are presented and compared with those in so-called progressively transformed germinal centers. Since the route of administration of BCG may have an important function in immunotherapy, we investigated intralymphatic administration to direct BCG to the lymph nodes. Multiple injections of high doses of BCG were administered to 6 rhesus monkeys via the dorsal lymphatics of the lower limb. A suppurative lymphadenitis was observed along the lower limb and in the inguinal area in 5 of the 6 monkeys. Material obtained from 35 cases of abdominal tuberculosis waps studied and an attempt was made to demonstrate tubercle bacilli by special staining of histological sections, culture and guinea-pig inoculation.
