Immediate Lymphatic Reconstruction to Prevent Postmastectomy Lymphedema: A National Analysis of Outcomes and Regional Trends.

BACKGROUND: Lymphedema is a chronic disease characterized by swelling, inflammation, adipose deposition, and fibrosis. In the United States, lymphedema occurs most frequently as a sequela of oncologic lymphadenectomy. Axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) for breast cancer has been associated with a 5%-40% incidence of upper limb lymphedema. In immediate lymphatic reconstruction (ILR), surgeons perform lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) with ALND to prevent the development of future lymphedema. Although early evidence supports a protective effect of ILR, there have been few large-scale studies on

Stewart Treves syndrome as a catastrophic sequela of chronic lymphedema: Clinical spectrum, management challenges, and outcomes.

OBJECTIVE: Stewart Treves syndrome (STS) is a rare, aggressive lymphangiosarcoma arising in chronically lymphedematous tissue, most often after mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection, and occasionally in lower limb lymphedema. We aimed to describe the clinical spectrum, diagnostic challenges, management, and outcomes of upper and lower limb STS, highlighting the importance of early recognition in improving survival. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective review of three patients diagnosed with STS between 2020 and 2025 at our tertiary vascular surgery center specializing in lymphedema.

Effects of Neuromuscular Physiotherapy on Pain, Range of Motion, and Function in Shoulder-Related Disorders: A Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review.

Shoulder-related disorders are highly prevalent, with the global incidence being on the rise. Neuromuscular rehabilitation aims to optimize muscle function and motor performance by modulating the neuromuscular system, which comprises the central and peripheral nervous systems. This study aimed to synthesize evidence on neuromuscular rehabilitation for shoulder disorders, evaluating its effects on pain, range of motion, and shoulder function. English-language literature was retrieved from the PubMed, Cochrane, and Embase databases up to June 2025 via search terms such as "Shoulder," "Neuromuscu

68 Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT: A "New Kid on the Block" for Evaluation of Stewart-Treves Syndrome.

A 40-year-old woman, who underwent modified radical mastectomy and chemoradiotherapy for triple-negative left breast cancer, presented with increasing lymphedema of the proximal left upper limb of 2 years' duration. She underwent 18 F-FDG PET/CT (FDG) and 68 Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT (FAPI) scans, which showed subcutaneous deposits that were more FAPI-avid than FDG. These were diagnosed as Stewart-Treves syndrome (STS), which is a rare, highly aggressive angiosarcoma arising in chronic lymphedema. Better performance of FAPI vis-à-vis FDG scan may aid in early diagnosis and timely intervention in this
