Adenoviral infections in neonates are associated with high rates of mortality due to the lack of humoral immunity. A comprehensive search of published literature in PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct electronic databases was conducted for case reports published between the years 1990 and 2021. The aim of our study is to investigate the risk factors, clinical manifestations, treatment, and outcomes of adenoviral infections in neonates. In our study, 36 cases were included. The most common type of infection was disseminated one (14/36, 38.8%), followed by adenoviral pneumonia (13/36, 36.

BACKGROUND: Until January 18, 2021, coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has infected more than 93 million individuals and has caused a certain degree of panic. Viral pneumonia caused by common viruses such as respiratory syncytial virus, rhinovirus, human metapneumovirus, human bocavirus, and parainfluenza viruses have been more common in children. However, the incidence of COVID-19 in children was significantly lower than that in adults. The purpose of this study was to describe the clinical manifestations, treatment and outcomes of COVID-19 in children compared with those of other sources of

BACKGROUND: Characteristic chest computed tomography (CT) manifestation of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was added as a diagnostic criterion in the Chinese National COVID-19 management guideline. Whether the characteristic findings of Chest CT could differentiate confirmed COVID-19 cases from other positive nucleic acid test (NAT)-negative patients has not been rigorously evaluated.
PURPOSE: We aim to test whether chest CT manifestation of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) can be differentiated by a radiologist or a computer-based CT image analysis system.
METHODS: We conducted a retrosp

INTRODUCTION: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) led to a global pandemic. Although reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) of viral nucleic acid is the gold standard for COVID-19 diagnosis, its sensitivity was found to not be high enough in many reports. As radiomics-based diagnosis research has recently emerged, we aimed to use computerized tomography (CT)-based radiomics models to differentiate COVID-19 pneumonia from other viral pneumonia infections.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was performed according to the preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-

Chest computed tomography (CT) based analysis and diagnosis of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) plays a key role in combating the outbreak of the pandemic that has rapidly spread worldwide. To date, the disease has infected more than 18 million people with over 690k deaths reported. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is the current gold standard for clinical diagnosis but may produce false positives; thus, chest CT based diagnosis is considered more viable. However, accurate screening is challenging due to the difficulty in annotation of infected areas, curation of

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on public life and health worldwide, putting the world's healthcare systems at risk. The first step in stopping this outbreak is to detect the infection in its early stages, which will relieve the risk, control the outbreak's spread, and restore full functionality to the world's healthcare systems. Currently, PCR is the most prevalent diagnosis tool for COVID-19. However, chest X-ray images may play an essential role in detecting this disease, as they are successful for many other viral pneumonia diseases. Unfortunately, there are common featu

Automatic and rapid screening of COVID-19 from the radiological (X-ray or CT scan) images has become an urgent need in the current pandemic situation of SARS-CoV-2 worldwide. However, accurate and reliable screening of patients is challenging due to the discrepancy between the radiological images of COVID-19 and other viral pneumonia. So, in this paper, we design a new stacked convolutional neural network model for the automatic diagnosis of COVID-19 disease from the chest X-ray and CT images. In the proposed approach, different sub-models have been obtained from the VGG19 and the Xception mod
