Temporal expression of CXCR2 ligands in a rat model of LPS-induced pulpitis.

Neutrophils play a central yet dual role in pulpitis, the inflammatory response to dental caries. Because CXCR2 ligands regulate neutrophil recruitment and function, this study focused on the temporal expression of two major CXCR2 ligands (CXCL1 and CXCL2) during the progression of LPS induced pulpitis. A controlled rat model of progressive pulpitis (n = 102) was developed using LPS from Escherichia coli or PBS applied to mechanically exposed pulp, followed by sealing of the pulp–dentin wound to allow inflammation to progress over defined time points. Extracted teeth underwent histological, im

Inflammation-Regeneration Axis of Dental Pulp Stem Cells: Wnt/NF-κB Crosstalk.

BACKGROUND: Inflammation critically determines dental pulp regenerative outcomes, with dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) orchestrating tissue homeostasis through differentiation, self-renewal and immunomodulation processes dynamically regulated by Wnt/β-catenin and NF-κB signaling crosstalk. Given the rising therapeutic potential of Wnt-targeted interventions in dental tissue engineering, elucidating these molecular interactions under pathological conditions is essential for developing regenerative therapeutics capable of simultaneously promoting reparative dentinogenesis while resolving inflamma

TruNatomy versus protaper gold for postoperative pain in pulpitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Root canal treatment aims to eliminate organisms within the canal system through the removal of pulp tissue, infected dentin, and necrotic materials. However, experiencing pain or swelling after root canal operations can be a significant concern. Minimally invasive (MI) techniques, such as the TruNatomy rotary file system, are intended to preserve tooth structure. However, conventional systems, such as ProTaper Gold rotary file system, aim for complete debridement. In this meta-analysis, we aim to assess the efficacy of the TruNatomy and ProTaper Gold in reducing postoperative pain. In Novembe

TheraCal LC versus Mineral Trioxide Aggregate for full pulpotomy in cariously exposed mature permanent molars with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis: a randomized clinical trial.

INTRODUCTION: Preserving pulp vitality is crucial for long-term tooth survival. Pulpotomy, which involves the removal of infected pulp while retaining healthy pulp, helps maintain tooth vitality and function. Although TheraCal LC has shown success as a pulp-capping agent, its use in pulpotomy remains unexplored. This study compared the clinical and radiographic success of TheraCal LC and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) in full pulpotomy of mature permanent molars in young patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (SIP). MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this double-blinded, parallel, non-infer

Neural biomarkers in pulpitis and their associations with inflammation and pain perception: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Pulpal nerves have been revealed to play a crucial role in regulating immune responses and pain perception in dental pulp inflammation. While the dynamic changes in inflammatory mediators during the progression of pulpitis have been extensively emphasized, neural biomarkers and pulpal nerve alterations have not been well summarized. The objective of this study was to synthesise evidence on the expression of molecular biomarkers associated with neural alterations during pulp inflammation, with particular emphasis on which molecules orchestrate inflammation and how they regulate pain perception.

Diagnostic accuracy of combined pulp sensibility tests for detecting post-anesthetic pulpal anesthesia in mandibular molars with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.

Attaining pulpal anesthesia (PA) is the key to painless endodontic treatment. Few studies have measured post-anesthetic PA using cold and/or electric stimuli but heat test has never been used for such purpose. Our study employed different combinations of Heat Test (HT), Cold Test (CT) and electrical pulp test (EPT) to detect post-anesthetic PA in mandibular molars with Symptomatic Irreversible Pulpitis. One hundred healthy endodontic patients received Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block with 2% lignocaine containing 1:200000 adrenaline. After achieving lip numbness, PA was evaluated using EPT, CT an
