Primary mesenteric adenocarcinoma (PMA) is a rare malignant disease. A case of PMA that was covered by an abscess of the mesocolon and intestinal obstruction is reported in the present study. As the onset site of PMA is often obscured or hidden, there may be no clinical symptoms in the early stage. At the advanced stage, the tumor size is large enough to induce intestinal obstruction, perforation, bleeding, volvulus and other clinical symptoms in the majority of patients. BACKGROUND: Several authors have reported on the utility of a laparoscopic approach for the palliation of malignant bowel obstruction (MBO); however, the advantages of laparoscopic surgery for MBO have not yet been confirmed.
METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who underwent palliative surgery for MBO between 2007 and 2015. OBJECTIVE: To retrospectively evaluate the CT findings and clinicopathologic features in patients with gastrointestinal (GI) involvement of recurrent renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The medical records were reviewed for 15 patients with 19 pathologically proven GI tract metastases of RCC. The CT findings were analyzed to determine the involved sites and type of involvement; lesion size, morphology, and contrast enhancement pattern; and occurrence of lymphadenopathy, ascites and other complications.

Chilaiditi sign and syndrome are uncommon conditions and often misdiagnosed. They are clinically significant, however, because they can result in a range of complications, including bowel volvulus, perforation and obstruction. When patients are symptomatic, treatment is usually conservative and surgery is rarely indicated unless there is a suspicion of ischaemia, or if conservative management does not resolve other signs and symptoms. This article describes Chilaiditi sign and syndrome, and presents four case studies to illustrate the relevant signs and symptoms.

In patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections could aggravate the course of IBD but it is difficult to distinguish CMV infection from IBD exacerbation endoscopically. Usually, CMV tends to localize to the colon and other organic involvements were reported very rare in the IBD patients. Herein, we report a case that CMV gastric ulcer complicated with pyloric obstruction in a patient with ulcerative colitis during ganciclovir therapy, which was resolved by surgical gastrojejunostomy with review of literature.
