Tinidazole, a synthetic imidazole derivative, has been used in the oral treatment of several protozoal infections - trichomoniasis, giardiasis and amoebiasis. Among the protozoal organisms inhibited by tinidazole are Trichomonas vaginalis, Trichomonas foetus, and Entamoeba histolytica. Outbreaks of Wimmera rye grass toxicity in the south-west of Western Australia, and the associated distribution of Wimmera rye grass parasitised by Anguina sp and Corynebacterium sp were investigated. The relationship between the immunograms and aminotransferases, gamma-GT and AP were examined in 715 patients with hepatobiliary diseases closely confirmed by histomorphological criteria and a series of 60 normal subjects. Two renal allograft recipients with acquired immunoglobulin deficiency had a disseminated infection with candida albicans. Septic fever, intrahepatic cholestasis and pulmonary mycotic disease were the prominent clinical symptoms. Fifty-eight children with Reye's syndrome (RS) confirmed by liver biopsy were treated at the University of Cincinnati between 1963 and 1974.
