Cytogenetic analysis of a new human hepatoma cell line BC2 was performed with conventional cytogenetic techniques and fluorescent in situ hybridization. Pathologic changes of the spleen in primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) were studied using autopsy cases. Using the 1986 National Mortality Followback Survey, alcohol consumption patterns were compared for decedents with and without mention of cirrhosis of the liver as a cause of death.
