Rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis are both chronic inflammatory skin conditions with facial distributions. Using the TriNetX database, we investigated the concomitance of rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis. After propensity score matching, rosacea patients had an increased risk of seborrheic dermatitis (odds ratio 6.456; 95% confidence interval, 6.155-6.772; P < 0.0001). This significant correlation emphasizes the importance of clinicians remaining observant for signs of both conditions when diagnosing and managing patients with either disease.

BACKGROUND: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder characterized by eczematous lesions and pruritus. Facial and neck involvement in AD can be challenging to differentiate from other facial dermatoses, such as allergic contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, and drug-induced facial dermatitis, complicating treatment strategies.
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the distribution of facial involvement patterns in patients with AD and to explore the differential diagnosis, focusing on head and neck lesions.
METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted

INTRODUCTION: Management of atrophic acne scars remains challenging, and conventional treatments often yield suboptimal or inconsistent outcomes. Stromal vascular fraction (SVF), a cell-rich fraction derived from adipose tissue, has recently gained attention as a promising regenerative therapy. Several previous studies have reported benefits of SVF when combined with other treatment modalities; however, its stand-alone efficacy for atrophic acne scars has not been clearly investigated. In addition, molecular evidence supporting the regenerative effects of SVF in acne scar treatment remains lim

Prolonged mask use during the COVID-19 pandemic has been associated with an increase in dermatologic conditions, particularly irritant and allergic contact dermatitis. Mechanical friction, occlusion, and humidity contribute to skin barrier disruption and inflammation. Although most cases are self-limiting, a subset may evolve into chronic or steroid-dependent dermatoses. We report a case of a 23-year-old male healthcare professional who developed erythematous plaques behind the ear following continuous mask use. The lesions initially responded to topical betamethasone 0.05% cream but relapsed

This study provide a comprehensive analysis of using oral isotretinoin as a promising therapy for severe to moderate seborrheic dermatitis, which is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that results in scaling as well as erythema that affects specific sites of the skin such as the scalp, face, upper trunk, or flexures. However, the exact cause of this condition is unclear.Various internal and external factors are associated with its pathogenesis. It is believed that the main factor is the overgrowth of Malassezia yeast, which is a part of the normal skin flora, proliferates in the sebum-rich a

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated dermatosis that affects approximately 125 million people worldwide. Traditionally considered a dermatologic condition, it is now perceived as a systemic disease with numerous comorbidities. While its associations with psoriatic arthritis, metabolic syndrome, and psychiatric disorders are well established, less attention has been given to its coexistence with other dermatoses. This narrative review aims to explore and summarize the existing evidence on the relationships between psoriasis and other skin diseases, highlighting potential overlaps in clinical

BACKGROUND: Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a common skin disease characterized by epithelial barrier breakdown. The epithelial barrier theory (EBT) implicates epithelial barrier disruption in the development of epithelial barrier diseases (EBDs). We hypothesized that SD is associated with an increased risk of EBDs and investigated the bidirectional association between SD and EBDs.

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection is transmitted primarily through sexual contact, blood exposure, or from mother to child. The virus targets CD4-positive T cells, progressively impairing immune function and potentially advancing to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) if left untreated. HIV infection is known to be associated with various cutaneous and mucocutaneous conditions, including seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, oral candidiasis, herpes zoster, and Kaposi's sarcoma. We report a case of a 44-year-old man in whom HIV infection was early diagnosed after a treatment-refra

Rheumatologists and other nondermatologists often encounter patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) who present with cutaneous diseases that mimic psoriasis (PsO). Cutaneous disorders including tinea, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, pityriasis rubra pilaris, syphilis, or cutaneous lymphoma are commonly mistaken for PsO. It is crucial for rheumatologists and other nondermatologists to recognize alternative conditions and to consider referral to dermatology when skin disease is not responding to therapy. Correct diagnosis is important when assessing disease severity in clinical practice as well.

Tinea capitis is a common childhood fungal infection that is extremely rare in newborns, with limited data available. Its clinical presentation may closely resemble that of other dermatological conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, neonatal lupus erythematosus and congenital syphilis. It is essential to make a definite diagnosis, as tinea capitis treatment requires systemic antifungal therapy. However, successful topical monotherapies have been reported. We report a rare case of neonatal tinea capitis diagnosed in a 24-day-old newborn, presenting with multiple scaly plaques on the scalp, d

PURPOSE: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant disorder which commonly causes neoplasms leading to disfigurement or dysfunction. Mitogen-activated protein kinase inhibitors (MEKi) are generally well-tolerated treatments which target neural tumor progression in patients with NF1. However, cutaneous adverse events (CAEs) are common and may hinder patients' abilities to remain on treatment, particularly in children. We aim to characterize CAEs secondary to MEKi treatment in pediatric and young adult patients with NF1.
METHODS: We reviewed institutional medical records of patien
