Pityriasis rosea Gibert triggered by SARS-CoV-2 infection: A case report.

RATIONALE: Pityriasis rosea Gibert is an erythematous-papulosquamous dermatosis that frequently occurs in young adults. The etiopathogenesis of PR is still unknown, but is frequently associated with episodes of upper respiratory tract infections. It is likely that a new viral trigger of pityriasis rosea is the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). PATIENT CONCERNS: We present the case of a female patient in whom the diagnosis of pityriasis rosea led to the investigation and diagnosis of the SARS-CoV-2 infection. The patient presented to the Department of Dermatology fo

Cutaneous Manifestations of COVID-19.

Patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) present with multisystem signs and symptoms, including dermatologic manifestations. The recent literature has revealed that dermatologic manifestations of COVID-19 often are early onset and provide helpful cues to a timely diagnosis. We compiled the relevant emerging literature regarding the dermatologic manifestations of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) so that physicians can be aware of the various clinical cutaneous presentations in this time of high incidence of COVID-19.

International registry of dermatological manifestations secondary to COVID-19 infection in 347 Hispanic patients from 25 countries.

BACKGROUND: The infection by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been associated with multiple cutaneous manifestations, although characterization of them in Hispanic patients with darker skin phototypes is lacking. The objective of this study is to characterize the clinical dermatological manifestations associated with COVID-19 infection in cases with few or without general symptoms in patients from Latin America. METHODS: Cross-sectional study using a questionnaire that was made for health professionals (physicians with a specialty in dermatology) to investigate dermatological lesions a

Pityriasis rosea after administration of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

Pityriasis rosea (PR) is an acute papulosquamous cutaneous disorder that classically presents with a herald patch rapidly followed by a widespread rash along skin cleavage lines. Although the exact pathogenesis of PR is unknown, current evidence suggests that an inflammatory reaction due to a viral trigger may lead to the cutaneous manifestations. COVID-19 has been reported as one such viral trigger for PR. Previously, PR has been reported in temporal association with various viral inoculations. This article presents a case of PR in a 66-year-old black male 1 week after administration of the P
