This is the first case report of bilateral naevus comedonicus seen in a pair of twins in Singapore. 3 other family members were similarly affected. Though both sexes were affected, there were more males affected as compared to females. Recent reports support a familial inheritance. Our pedigree showed an autosomal dominant inheritance. The extensive involvement seen in the twins suggest that they may be homozygous for this condition.

We here report the unusual occurrence of syringoma in a unilateral linear nevoid distribution in a 32-year-old woman. The papules were located on the right side of the chest and right arm. These lesions need to be distinguished from other linear papular eruptions.

Five cases of apocrine hidrocystoma of the anal glands are described, two of which are dealt with in detail, as they were a primary cause of the patients' complaints. The three additional cases were found incidentally during histologic examination of hemorrhoidectomy specimens. All five patients were women between 32 and 65 years of age. Patients with psychosomatic complaints of a hypochondriacal nature were treated with a weekly IM dose of 1.2-1.5 mg fluspirilene (0.6-0.75 ml IMAP) for a period of 10 weeks. According to the physicians' ratings, good results were obtained in 58%, moderate ones in 28%. In the patients' ratings, this corresponded to 60 and 26% respectively. A 59-year-old man had a pedunculate perianal tumor initially thought to be a condyloma acuminatum. Since it failed to respond to topical podophyllum resin, the growth was excised and found to be an apocrine gland tumor. Histological features included a duct extending from the surface epidermis to multiple tubules, which led to cystic spaces with papillary projections of columnar epithelium. Decapitation secretion and fibrous stromal proliferation were prominent. The clinical and histological similarities to other apocrine gland adenomas are briefly presented.

The primary symptom in the tooth system, a tendency toward aplasia of the bicuspid teeth in both dentition periods, was reported for an ectodermal syndrome which has seldom been described. We describe our experience in the use of a Silastic foam dressing in 17 patients undergoing radical excision of hidradenitis suppurativa whose wounds were allowed to heal by granulation. Axillary excisions were carried out in 9 patients and perineal excisions in 8 patients. The technique permits adequate excision of the disease and results in a cosmetically acceptable scar, superior to that obtained by skin grafting and with little limitation of movement. A case of follicular occlusion disease with notably increased and abnormal elastic tissue and transepidermal elimination of elastic fibers is reported. This combination of findings has traditionally been regarded as unique to elastosis perforans serpiginosa and, to our knowledge, has not previously been described in other follicular diseases. It is hypothesized that the histopathologic changes seen in this case might be a nonspecific secondary alteration in the dermis caused by long-standing chronic inflammation and/or repeated exposure of the dermis to follicular contents.

An 87-year-old woman presented with a rapidly growing tumour at the nasal side of the upper eyelid. The clinical diagnosis was basal cell carcinoma. During surgery, the impression of malignancy was accentuated by the finding that even the conjunctiva had been invaded. Histological examination revealed an eccrine acrospiroma with, indeed, many mitoses but, on the other hand, a completely benign aspect. Besides, there was no recurrence after 1 year.

One hundred and thirty-one cases of patients operated for a parotidal tumor were reviewed. We report on 85 cases that had no previous treatment, including 68 benign and 17 malignant tumors. The surgical treatment applied is analysed according to the benign or malignant nature of the tumor and to the results. The ultrastructure of a chondroid syringoma is described. The tumor nests are formed by clumps, solid cords and tubular structures distributed diffusely throughout a stroma of varying density. Two different types of cells form this tumor: dark cells forming the inner layer of the tubuloalveolar and ductal structures and having epithelial features, and light cells which form the outer layer of the tubular structures and show myoepithelial differentiation. This is a report on two children with a syndrome characterized by an extensive congenital ichthyosiform eruption, neurosensory deafness, hypotrichosis, partial anhidrosis, and vascularization of the cornea. The facial involvement is distinctive. Other features are dystrophy of the nails and tight heel cords. Both children are of normal intelligence. The inheritance pattern is unknown.

A case of squamous cell carcinoma arising in hydradenitis suppurativa of over 20 years duration is described. Only 6 other cases are reported in the literature. Multiple sites of origin of malignancy is suspected in this case. Wide-spread bone metastases resulted in severe hypercalcemia. Palliation was obtained for a short period following chemotherapy and Adriamycin and Bleomycin. Autopsy studies showed metastatic tumor in almost all the organs of the body.
