Juvenile localized scleroderma (JLS) is a rare chronic inflammatory disease of connective tissue characterized by inflammation and fibrosis of the skin and underlying tissues, in some cases involving the fascia, muscles, bones, and central nervous system. This paper presents a clinical case of a 5-year-old female patient with en coup de sabre linear scleroderma. Three years after the onset of skin manifestations, she developed a stroke-like syndrome with acute left-sided hemiparesis and three focal epileptic seizures in the first week after the hemiparesis occurrence. Patients with fronto-parietal linear scleroderma, also known as En Coup De Sabre (ECDS) may have multiple ocular manifestations. Few cases have been reported involving strabismus in ECDS, and a variety of mechanisms have been proposed. We present three cases of patients who developed progressive strabismus associated with ECDS. Each of these cases is believed to be caused by a different mechanism. Patients may also have systemic and neurologic involvement, necessitating neuroimaging and thorough evaluations by rheumatology and neurology.

Parry-Romberg syndrome (PRS), also known as progressive facial hemiatrophy, is a rare neurocutaneous disorder characterized by progressive, unilateral atrophy of the facial tissues. It usually appears during childhood or early adulthood; however, adult-onset cases are increasingly being recognized. PRS significantly overlaps with localized scleroderma, especially the en coup de sabre (ECDS) subtype, indicating a common pathophysiological mechanism. We present a 52-year-old female patient with adult-onset PRS associated with ECDS. The patient was first diagnosed with localized scleroderma in 19

Botulinum toxin (BoNT) is well-recognized throughout dermatology for its cosmetic indications and growing therapeutic value. Recent studies have trialed BoNT in the treatment of hair and scalp disorders, many of which lack long-term effective treatments and significantly impact quality of life. In this review, we summarize the current clinical literature on this topic to comprehensively evaluate the efficacy, safety, and clinical value of BoNT in treating hair and scalp conditions. A literature search on PubMed/MEDLINE and Scopus identified 40 articles reporting the use of 25-200 units of BoNT

Localized scleroderma is a connective tissue disorder that causes excessive collagen deposition and skin fibrosis. It can be subdivided into morphea and linear scleroderma. En coup de sabre (ECDS) is a rare variant of linear scleroderma typically found among children. It is usually treated with methotrexate and corticotherapy in addition to folic acid supplements. To date, few cases of ECDS have been reported with oral involvement. This case report discusses a seven-year-old girl with linear scleroderma ECDS who was referred to the dental clinic to evaluate muscular hypotrophy on the floor of

The forehead, although sometimes hidden by a fringe, is a major region of the face revealing many expressions such as fatigue, surprise, concern, anger… In reconstructive surgery, the forehead is frequently used as a donor site. This article looks at three aspects: the used, traumatised and repaired forehead. The forehead, with its high-quality hairless skin and proximity to the noble structures of the face, is a central donor site. The forehead flap is commonly used for nasal reconstruction, with several variations to meet different needs. Other pedicled flaps, such as the supra-eyebrow flap

Juvenile localized scleroderma is characterised by inflammation which drives fibrosis in skin and soft tissues. The more severe subtypes of localized scleroderma such as linear and craniofacial are more common in children. Additionally, extracutaneous involvement is seen in half of all children and is associated with poorer treatment outcomes and health-related quality of life. Evidence for the management of craniofacial and extracutaneous involvement is lacking and therefore poses a challenge to clinicians. This review aims to provide a practical approach to management of these most challengi

Linear Atrophoderma of Moulin is a rare skin condition that is characterized by the development of one or more atrophic patches or depressions in the skin. These patches are usually located on the trunk, but they can also occur on the arms, legs, and neck. We here present a case of 33-year Nepalese male with brown to black color lesions over the left upper back, abdomen and thigh for the last 7 years. Clinical and dermatopathological findings were similar to the Linear Atrophoderma of Moulin. To our knowledge, this is the first case of LAM from Nepal. This case emphasizes the necessity of diag

Linear scleroderma en coup de sabre is a rare subtype of localized scleroderma. It is typically characterized by linear sclerosis and atrophy of the skin and underlying dermis affecting the frontoparietal region above the brow. The linear sclerotic lesions rarely extend into the upper eyelid. In this case series, the authors describe the presentation of 3 en coup de sabre cases, in particular the associated eyelid and adnexal findings which include upper eyelid skin fibrosis, sulcus hollowing, and eyelid retraction. The authors also describe the range of reconstructive treatment options in the
