pH-modulating binary hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks accelerate diabetic wound healing.

Diabetic foot ulcers have become an increasingly serious clinical problem, in which wound pH dysregulation and infection lead to impaired healing. To improve this situation, we propose a fabric coated with a binary hydrogen-bonded organic framework (SMU-8@W) to enhance wound healing efficiency. Specifically, the hydrogen-bonded organic framework (SMU-8) not only suppresses wound infection through its high photodynamic activity but also guides a "near-neutral-weakly acidic-near-neutral" pH transition at the wound site, thereby modulating the wound microenvironment. Moreover, SMU-8@W exhibits fa

Cellular, Acellular, and Matrix-Like Placental Products for Diabetic Foot Ulcers: A 12-Week Randomised-Trial Meta-Analysis.

Placental-derived cellular, acellular, and matrix-like products (CAMPs) are widely used as adjuncts to standard care for diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), but trials differ in product class, comparator, and healing window. We estimated the effect of adjunctive placental-derived CAMPs on complete wound closure at a single, clinically meaningful 12-week endpoint. The review was registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO; CRD420261399700) and reported per Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020, with search reporting gu

Texture-aware diffusion modelling for severity-conditioned synthetic progression-like visualization of diabetic foot ulcers from single images.

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are serious complications of diabetes associated with delayed healing, infection, and limb amputation. Modelling DFU progression remains challenging because publicly available image datasets generally contain independent single-timepoint images rather than longitudinal follow-up sequences. This study proposes a texture-aware conditional diffusion framework for generating severity-conditioned, progression-like synthetic DFU images from a single RGB input. Instead of claiming patient-specific temporal prediction, the framework models plausible population-level visual

Delayed standard care in diabetic foot ulcers: the roles of initial response pathways and non-professional health information.

BACKGROUND: Delayed entry into standard diabetic foot care may reflect non-standard initial actions, inaccurate risk appraisal, and exposure to unreliable health information. Practical concerns about life after amputation may further postpone treatment decisions, but these modifiable processes remain insufficiently characterized. OBJECTIVE: To examine initial response pathways, non-professional health information exposure, and post-amputation living-support concerns in relation to delayed care, disease severity, limb outcomes, and amputation decision-making. METHODS: A single-center prospect

Predictive Value of Preoperative Inflammatory and Nutritional Indices for Revision Surgery After Major Lower Extremity Amputation in Patients With Wagner Stage 5 Diabetic Foot.

BACKGROUND Major lower extremity amputation is a severe complication of diabetic foot disease, leading to high morbidity and repeat surgeries. Although systemic inflammatory and nutritional markers have been studied as prognostic factors in diabetic foot ulcers, their role in predicting revision surgery after major amputation is unclear. This study aims to evaluate the link between preoperative inflammatory and nutritional indices and revision surgery after major lower extremity amputation. MATERIAL AND METHODS This multicenter retrospective study reviewed medical records of patients with Wagn

Effects of dexmedetomidine versus remimazolam protocolized sedation during lower limb nerve block on early stress response and quality of recovery in patients undergoing diabetic foot ulcer repair: a randomized controlled trial protocol.

BACKGROUND: For patients undergoing diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) repair, lower limb nerve block is the preferred anesthetic regimen. However, the block alone often fails to fully eliminate intraoperative anxiety and stress responses. Adjunctive procedural sedation and analgesia (PSA), using agents such as dexmedetomidine or remimazolam, is a key strategy to enhance surgical comfort. Nevertheless, the comparative effects of these two agents on early stress response and quality of recovery remain unclear. METHODS: This is a prospective, randomized, single-center, single-blind, superiority controll
