The authors describe one case of post-traumatic dislocation of the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon. They found eleven other cases reported in the literature. The type of lesion should be looked for in cases of trauma to the wrist without a bony lesion. The treatment should be surgical when function is impaired, either shortly after the initial trauma or if the dislocation becomes habitual. The aim is to reconstruct a tendon sheath. The results were generally satisfactory.

Post-traumatic or post-operative immobilization of cervical spine often requires long term bed-rest. But, bed-rest indeed gave discomfort to patients, nonetheless, sometimes complete external fixation cannot be gained. Nineteen spherical prosthetic replacements have been performed in eighteen non service patients for osteonecrosis of the proximal scaphoid--with carporadial arthritis. One period of observation postoperative was for seven weeks only. Two procedures failed in the same patient. The patient with Preiser's disease is too recent to permit definitive conclusions on follow-up. Each of the other fifteen patients followed for an acceptable period are considered to have a good or satisfactory result.

Arthrography of the shoulder joint in so-called periarthritis humeroscapularis often shows nodular contrast defects, irregular defects in the bursa and contrast-filling of irregular lymphatics; these are characteristic signs of a synovitis. Arthrography can provide an exact diagnosis, not only in suspected post-traumatic rotator cuff, tears, but also in other painful conditions that limit movement. It is superior to CT in demonstrating inflammatory changes.

Results of the treatment of 47 patients with purulent gonites enabled the authors to recommend a method of complex treatment with using microartrotomy, drainage of the anterior and posterior portions of the articulation, prolonged running lavage of the articulation cavity by antiseptics in combination with massive antibiotic and immune therapy and other means of the correction of homeostasis. A new method for the measurement of tibial torsion using computerised transverse tomography is presented. Its accuracy is equal to that of cadaveric skeletal measurement. This method may be used in patients with unilateral post-traumatic torsional deformities, especially when these are combined with genu varum or valgum. The study of torsional aberrations in connection with congenital abnormalities of the foot is of further interest.

Sixty-two patients underwent resection of the distal ulna because of pain or limited motion after wrist trauma. The median length of resection was 23 mm. Injury to the distal radioulnar joint occurred primarily during fractures of the distal radius. Followup time averaged 87 months. The primary surgical indication was pain, but some procedures were performed in an effort to increase motion. All patients improved after surgery. Thirty-seven patients with unicompartmental osteoarthritis were treated by replacement arthroplasty using the Marmor modular prosthesis and each patient was followed for at least two years. Autogenous costochondral grafts have found application in 26 variegated cases of congenital dysplasia, ankylosis, neoplastic disease, osteoarthritis, and post-traumatic dysfunction. The authors' experience with the grafting procedure has been generally favourable, but various difficulties have also arisen. On the basis of 5 cases the syndrome of post traumatic arthropathy is described. Like its other forms it shows radiographyically a high degree of osteolysis, fragmentation and para-articular calcification of soft parts. The picture is similar to that of syringomyelia and tabes.
