Intra-articular injections of biological disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs in inflammatory arthropathies: An up-to-date narrative review.

INTRODUCTION: Since the 1990s thebiological disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) have revolutionized the treatment of chronic dysimmune inflammatory arthropathies such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis and Axial Spondylarthritis. Nevertheless, despite a full treatment regimen, mono- and oligoarticular persistence of the synovitis is sometimes observed. The intra-articular (IA) use of bDMARD drugs could resolve the persistent joint inflammation and result in a reduction in the degree of immunosuppression of individuals; moreover, the use of these drugs intra-articularly c

Identifying Predictors of First-Line Subcutaneous TNF-Inhibitor Persistence in Patients with Inflammatory Arthritis: A Decision Tree Analysis by Indication.

INTRODUCTION: Treatment persistence is a proxy for efficacy, safety and patient satisfaction, and a switch in treatment or treatment discontinuation has been associated with increased indirect and direct costs in inflammatory arthritis (IA). Hence, there are both clinical and economic incentives for the identification of factors associated with treatment persistence. Until now, studies have mainly leveraged traditional regression analysis, but it has been suggested that novel approaches, such as statistical learning techniques, may improve our understanding of factors related to treatment pers

The causal relationship between pure hypercholesterolemia and psoriasis: A bidirectional, two-sample Mendelian randomization study.

BACKGROUND: Several studies have reported the association between pure hypercholesterolemia (PH) and psoriasis, but the causal effect remains unclear. METHODS: We explored the causal effect between PH and psoriasis using two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using data from genome-wide association studies. Single nucleotide polymorphisms related with exposures at the genome-wide significance level (p < 5×10-8 ) and less than the linkage disequilibrium level (r2  < 0.001) were chosen as instrumental variables. Subsequently, we used inverse variance weighting (IVW), MR-

Direction and Range of Condylar Positional Changes in the First-Year Post-surgical Orthodontics Interventions in Adult Patients with Skeletal Class III Deformity: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

UNLABELLED: Mosquito-borne diseases are a major public health issue. The USA has experienced mosquito-borne disease outbreaks, including West Nile virus, Zika, dengue, and malaria, highlighting widespread risk across the country. In the USA, exposure to mosquito vectors primarily occurs outdoors. Individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness are particularly vulnerable to mosquito-borne diseases due to their increased exposure to mosquito vectors, limited access to healthcare, and high prevalence of underlying conditions. This review aims to examine the literature on mosquito-borne disease

Treatment of Refractory Multilevel Thoracic Spondylodiscitis Using Ultra-Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Approach for Debridement and Drainage: A Technical Note, Intraoperative Video, and Literature Review.

OBJECTIVE/BACKGROUND: Spondylodiscitis is an infection of the spinal column which can result in pain, deformity, instability, and/or neurologic deficits. When surgical treatment is required for thoracic spondylodiscitis, invasive open approaches are often utilized due to the ventral location of the pathology. METHODS: We describe the use of a spinal endoscope to perform drainage and debridement of infected tissue through a transforaminal/intradiscal approach in a patient with multilevel thoracic spondylodiscitis refractory to antibiotic therapy. Illustrative videos are provided, as well as a

Inhibition of LINK-A lncRNA overcomes ibrutinib resistance in mantle cell lymphoma by regulating Akt/Bcl2 pathway.

Ibrutinib, a bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor which suppresses B-cell receptor signaling, has remarkably improved the outcome of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). However, approximately 33% of MCL patients have primary Ibrutinib resistance, and acquired Ibrutinib resistance is nearly universal. Long intergenic non-coding RNA for kinase activation (LINK-A) exerts oncogenic role in different types of tumors, but the role of LINK-A in intrinsic ibrutinib resistance in MCL is still unclear. Here, LINK-A expression level was first assessed using quantitative Real-time PCR (qPCR) and i

Health-Care and Societal Costs Associated with Non-Persistence with Subcutaneous TNF-α Inhibitors in the Treatment of Inflammatory Arthritis (IA): A Retrospective Observational Study.

OBJECTIVE: A few studies have suggested that patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA) who remain persistent with subcutaneous TNF-α inhibitors (SC-TNFi) incur lower health care costs than patients who discontinue treatment, whereas data on the impact of non-persistence on indirect costs are largely lacking. Furthermore, existing estimates are based on fixed follow-ups, in relation to treatment initiation, and therefore do not measure costs in direct relation to treatment discontinuation. Therefore, by capturing costs in direct relation to treatment discontinuation, this study aimed to estimat
