Over the past 2 decades, platelet-rich plasma injections have emerged as a widely utilized treatment of lateral epicondylitis, supported by a substantial body of high-level evidence showing durable clinical benefit. As adoption has expanded, scrutiny has appropriately shifted toward safety and complication profiles. Recent systematic review data confirm what many clinicians already observe in practice: platelet-rich plasma injections are safe, with complication rates comparable to corticosteroid and saline injections. Transient postinjection pain is the most commonly reported adverse event, bu

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to determine whether adding radial Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) to a structured exercise program provides superior clinical benefits in patients with lateral epicondylitis compared with exercise alone.
METHODS: In this prospective randomized controlled trial, 66 patients were assigned to either an exercise program (n = 32) or a combined exercise + ESWT protocol (n = 34). The intervention lasted 12 weeks, with assessments conducted at baseline, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks. Pain intensity measured by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) served as the primary outcome.

BACKGROUND: Lateral epicondylitis (LE) is a prevalent musculoskeletal disorder characterized by pain and functional limitations of the elbow. Acupuncture is increasingly employed as an adjunctive therapy for LE, owing to its potential to alleviate symptoms. Significant heterogeneity persists in clinical acupuncture protocols, and the optimal selection of acupoints remains inadequately defined, thereby limiting the generalizability and standardization of treatment approaches.
OBJECTIVE: This study seeks to identify and synthesize the most frequently used and effective acupoint combinations for

BACKGROUND: Chronic tendinopathies are common causes of persistent musculoskeletal pain. In refractory cases, pathological hypervascularization and neo-innervation play a key role in pain generation. Transarterial microembolization (TAME) aims to reduce this abnormal vascularity using a minimally invasive approach.
PURPOSE: This review summarizes current evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of TAME in selected tendinopathies.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A narrative review of recent literature on TAME for adhesive capsulitis, medial and lateral epicondylitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and plant

Lateral epicondylitis is a common cause of lateral elbow pain. Although most patients improve with nonoperative treatment, a subset develops persistent symptoms requiring surgical intervention. Various surgical techniques-including open and arthroscopic debridement, percutaneous tenotomy, and tendon repair-have been described; however, the optimal surgical strategy remains controversial. This review summarizes current evidence regarding surgical techniques and clinical outcomes, with particular emphasis on the role of tendon repair in patients with high-grade common extensor tendon tears.
