BACKGROUND: Behçet's disease (BD) is a chronic, multisystem, inflammatory pan-vasculitis of unknown etiology, with heterogeneous presentations in different parts of the world. It commonly involves the mucosae, skin, joints, eyes, and central nervous system. Behçet's disease is considered to represent an autoimmune reaction triggered by a yet to be identified infectious agent in a genetically predisposed person. It most commonly affects persons of Mediterranean or Far Eastern origin and is considered rare among Black Africans.

Xanthogranulomatous orchitis (XGO) is an extremely rare inflammatory destructive lesion of testis. We report a case of a 14-year-old boy who presented with painful right testicular mass and discharging scrotal fistulas. Serologic tumor markers were normal. Acne inversa is a rare chronic and debilitating inflammatory skin disease. The authors report a case of a 45-year old male who presented with acne inversa in the inguinal, perineal, and scrotal areas. After unsatisfactory pharmacological treatment a wide surgical excision of the affected skin was performed in stages. On follow-up the patient presented with a very good cosmetic and functional result. A review of the most recent literature is also presented.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The serine and cysteine peptidase inhibitor, BbCI, isolated from Bauhinia bauhinioides seeds, is similar to the classical plant Kunitz inhibitor, STI, but lacks disulphide bridges and methionine residues. BACKGROUND: acute idiopathic scrotal oedema (AISO) is most commonly seen in boys aged between 5 and 10 years. It comprises a benign dermatosis of spontaneously favourable outcome but requiring surgical exploration in some cases in order to rule out testicular torsion.
