Corpus luteum cysts are a serious reproductive disorder that affects the reproductive performance of sows. In this study, transcriptome and metabolome datasets of porcine normal and cyst luteal granulosa cells were generated to explore the molecular mechanism of luteal cyst formation. OBJECTIVE: Mature cystic teratomas are mostly confined to the ovaries, but several authors have reported findings of extragonadal occurrences along the migration pathway of primordial germ cells. Extragonadal mature cystic teratomas are extremely rare; their occurrences and pathogenesis are unknown.
CASE REPORT: We report the case of a 26-year-old woman who was admitted for scheduled laparoscopic right ovarian tumor excision. An anterior uterine wall mature cystic teratoma and a pararectal corpus luteum cyst were found intraoperatively with coexistence of left adnexal agenesis.

Acute abdominal pain in women of reproductive age is common and frequent cause for visit to emergency department which warrants emergent evaluation. We present the case of a 23-year-old nulliparous women presenting with post-coital haemoperitoneum secondary to a ruptured corpus luteum cyst. This is a rare case demonstrating the need to elicit sexual history in patients presenting with an acute abdomen in emergency department.
