Endoscopic colposuspension by using fibrin sealant as a substitute for sutures was performed in 17 women suffering from urodynamically verified type I-II stress urinary incontinence. Two-puncture technique was used with a 10-mm trocar for optics and a 5-mm trocar for instrumentation. The two-component fibrin sealant, Tisseel (1 ml) by using special applicator device, Duploject was applied with tube on both sides of the urethrovesical area. After that the urethrovesical junction was pressed for 5 min against the retropubic periost by the surgeon's index and middle fingers placed in the vagina.

Twenty-one iatrogenic ureteral injuries (20 patients) as a result of obstetric and gynecologic operations are presented. All injuries occurred during operations for benign conditions, such as Cesarean section and transabdominal hysterectomy. Pelvic adhesions as a result of repeat Cesarean section, markedly enlarging the uterus at the time of abdominal hysterectomy, and massive hemorrhage during surgical treatment were the main causes of ureteral injury. The purpose of this study was to compare the postoperative course in 127 patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomy without closure of the visceral peritoneum, who were assigned to either staple closure of the vaginal cuff or drain use. The operative treatment of stress incontinence with the Marshall-Marchetti-Krantz procedure has proved effective. Ovarian transposition in adults has been shown to protect ovarian function in about 60% of cases by reducing ovarian exposure to less than 4 to 7 Gy. We therefore evaluated the effect of ovarian transposition during childhood or adolescence. Vaginal tubal sterilization was once the procedure of choice for interval sterilization. This technique fell out of favor in part because of a perceived increase in morbidity over the evolving laparoscopic techniques. The prolapse of vaginal vault after hysterectomy is a rather common event, whereas ileal evisceration and intestinal occlusion following a complete rupture of an inverted vaginal vault is extremely rare. The Authors report a case successfully treated using a modified Feldman and Birnbaum colposacropexy.
