Ovarian transposition in adults has been shown to protect ovarian function in about 60% of cases by reducing ovarian exposure to less than 4 to 7 Gy. We therefore evaluated the effect of ovarian transposition during childhood or adolescence. Eighteen girls had ovarian transposition performed at a mean (+/- SEM) age of 9.4 +/- 1.2 years (range, 1.2 to 16 years). Vaginal tubal sterilization was once the procedure of choice for interval sterilization. This technique fell out of favor in part because of a perceived increase in morbidity over the evolving laparoscopic techniques. Complications should be minimized by the advent of routine antibiotic prophylaxis and improved operating techniques that allow shorter procedure times. Since broad experience concerning the stability of fibrin sealing is needed, it has become part of the routine program in orthopaedics and in traumatology. There were 1365 vaginal hysterectomies performed at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Novi Sad. Morcellation was applied in 162 (11.9%) patients. It was most often applied in the group of patients from 40 to 49 years of age and in the sixth decade of life (27.2%; 44 cases). The vaginal diaphragm is currently less popular than other contraceptive methods, such as the pill, IUDs or surgical sterilization. It is however, regarded as one of the safest methods of contraception available and complications of diaphragm use are rare. Ten patients with a discharging perineal sinus that developed after proctectomy were treated with a new fibrin adhesive system in order to close the sinus. Four of the patients also had a fistula that extended from the sinus to the vagina. Treatment was unsuccessful in two patients: one had retained foreign bodies in the sinus and the other had a rather large spheric cavity. In eight patients the sinus healed after application of fibrin adhesive, even when a fistula to the vagina was present. The method seems to be effective for closing a long, narrow perineal sinus.

Twelve cases of adhesion of the labia minora complicating circumcision in the neonatal period of a Nigerian Community are presented. 9 of the cases were under one year in age. 10 of the cases were erroneously diagnosed by general practitioners as cases of imperforate vagina or hymen. The commonest presenting symptom was a poor urinary stream. Treatment was by separation of the adhesion and local application of dienoestrol cream, the success rate of this mode of therapy was 91.7%.
