Impact of maternal psoriasis on adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: There is a dearth of robust evidence regarding the correlation between psoriasis with maternal and neonatal outcomes, making it challenging to establish definitive recommendations for the management of these patients. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to review the evidence with regard to the impact of maternal psoriasis on maternal and neonatal outcomes. METHODS: Following the PRISMA guideline, a systematic search of English articles using PubMed, Embase, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library was conducted. The search was per

Progress in Research on Biomarkers of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and Preeclampsia.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and preeclampsia (PE) are common complications in pregnancy, with incidence rates of 1-5% and 9.4%, respectively, in China. Both these phenomena can cause adverse pregnancy outcomes and are extremely harmful to the mother and fetus. In this study, we observed that several predictive factors have important value in GDM and PE. Among the GDM group, abnormal levels of adiponectin (APN), C-reactive protein (CRP), and Leptin were observed. The coexistence of PE and GDM in the pregnant population is not uncommon. Ultimately, we discovered abnormal levels of factor

Patients with autoimmune skin diseases are at increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

BACKGROUND: Increased rates of adverse pregnancy outcomes have been reported in association with rheumatologic diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, dermatomyositis. However, little is known about pregnancy outcomes in patients with autoimmune skin diseases. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to determine the frequency of adverse pregnancy outcomes in patients with autoimmune skin diseases. We hypothesized that similar to rheumatic diseases, the rate of adverse pregnancy outcomes in patients with autoimmune skin diseases would be higher than the general population. ST

Microbiome modulation in inflammatory diseases: Progress to microbiome genetic engineering.

Recent developments in sequencing technology and analytical approaches have allowed researchers to show that the healthy gut microbiome is very varied and capable of performing a wide range of tasks. The importance of gut microbiota in controlling immunological, neurological, and endocrine function is becoming well-recognized. Thereby, numerous inflammatory diseases, including those that impact the gastrointestinal system, as well as less obvious ones, including Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), cancer, gestational diabetes (GD), type 1 diabetes (T1D), and type 2 diabetes (T2D), have been linked to d

Perinatal events and development of juvenile idiopathic arthritis-associated uveitis.

Uveitis is one of the most common manifestations of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Currently, JIA is associated with decreased gut microbiota diversity. Studies confirm that perinatal events can cause aberrant microbial colonization. The objective of this study is to determine if JIA is associated with perinatal events with a secondary focus on these variables to the development of JIA-uveitis. 369 patients with strabismus (n = 200) or JIA (n = 196) were included in the study. Completed surveys (JIA 37; strabismus 18) collected data about birth route, pregnancy and labor complications, J

Familial Gigantiform Cementoma: Life-Saving Total Midface Resection and Reconstruction Using Virtual Surgical Planning and 3D Printed Patient-Specific Implant-A Clinical Study.

OBJECTIVE: The diagnostic impact of chromogranin A (CgA) measurement has been studied in various neuroendocrine tumours (NET) such as pheochromocytomas, gastrinomas and neuroblastomas. Clinically nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas (NFPA) are generally diagnosed on tumoural symptoms or hypopituitarism and, except for gonadotrophins and their free subunits which may be increased in the case of gonadotrophinomas, markers of endocrine secretory activity are lacking not only for diagnostic purpose but also in the postoperative follow-up of these patients. As the presence of CgA has been demonstrated

Emerging functions and significance of circCDYL in human disorders.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a group of non-coding transcripts in which a loop structure is shaped via a back splicing procedure. They have central roles in the regulation of gene expression. hsa_circ_0008285, alternatively named as circCDYL, is a circular RNA originated from the exon 4 of CDYL gene. It is produced by a back-splice incident and is mainly located in the cytoplasm. It has no internal ribosome entry site, open reading frame and intronic sequences. CircCDYL dysregulation has been reported in the malignant conditions including multiple myeloma, mantle cell lymphoma, breast cancer,

OBJECTIVES: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is associated with increased maternal and fetal health risks, yet reliable predictive biomarkers remain poorly established. Acylcarnitines (ACs), key metabolites involved in fatty acid oxidation and energy metabolism, have been identified as potential early biomarkers for type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, their role in the metabolic alterations of GDM and pre-gestational diabetes mellitus (PGDM) during pregnancy remains largely unexplored. METHODS: This was a case-control study involving 75 pregnant women categorized into three groups: normal preg
