OBJECTIVE: Primary aldosteronism (PA) may present at younger age and may thus complicate pregnancy. Our aim was to identify female patients in whom PA was diagnosed after pregnancy complicated with hypertension and to analyze possible hypertension-related complications during pregnancy.
METHODS: We performed retrospective analysis of female patients with PA diagnosed and treated at our Department who were pregnant before the diagnosis of PA.

OBJECTIVE: Understanding the effects of benzodiazepines (BZDs) on maternal/fetal health remains incomplete despite their frequent use. This article quantifies the effects of antenatal BZD exposure on delivery outcomes.
DATA SOURCES: Medline, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were searched till June 30, 2018.

HistoryAn 8-month-old previously healthy boy was referred to our institution by the maternal child health center for progressive truncal hypotonia and developmental delay. This infant was born after an uncomplicated pregnancy with no perinatal complications. He was delivered at full term via spontaneous vaginal delivery. Two of his older male siblings died around 2-3 years of age due to pneumonia. According to the parents, these siblings also displayed reduced muscle tone, and one of them developed recurrent seizure.

INTRODUCTION: Spontaneous ureteric rupture is an extremely rare cause of acute abdominal pain in the intrapartum and postpartum period. We present the case of a right ureteric rupture diagnosed immediately postpartum.
CASE: A 23-year-old woman in her second pregnancy (who had had a previous caesarean section) developed acute-onset right-flank pain 12 h after vaginal delivery. A contrast computerized tomography scan suggested a ureteric injury; ureteroscopy diagnosed a proximal ureteric rupture and a stent was placed.

INTRODUCTION: Postpartum urinary retention (PUR) is not an uncommon consequence of bladder dysfunction after vaginal delivery. Despite its ubiquity, morbidity and discomfort brought to the postpartum women, it's a poorly discussed condition. OBJECTIVE: To build arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (HR) percentiles for the first 10 minutes after birth in term infants born after an uneventful gestation, vaginal delivery, and delayed cord clamping (DCC) for ≥60 seconds, and to compare our results with previous ones constructed after immediate cord clamping.
