INTRODUCTION: The advent of novel fetal interventions has increased interest in interventions for previously "lethal" anomalies such as bilateral renal agenesis or other congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT) associated with in utero renal failure. BACKGROUND: Antimicrobials are often used to prevent and treat diarrhea induced by enteroaggregative Escherichia coli (EAEC) in young ruminants. However, drug overuse or misuse accelerates the spread of multidrug-resistant extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing E. coli. Thus, supplementary foods as alternatives to antibiotics are needed to prevent colibacillus diarrhea in neonatal dairy calves. Here, we report the case of a 75-year-old male with abdominal pain who was admitted to our Emergency Department. Computed tomography (CT) scan revealed torsion of the mesenteric root with fluid surrounding the area.
