INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: Dextrocardia with situs solitus is an exceptionally rare congenital anomaly. Its asymptomatic nature may delay diagnosis, highlighting the need for careful prenatal and postnatal evaluation.
CASE PRESENTATION: A full-term female neonate was found to have isolated dextrocardia with situs solitus following prenatal suspicion. Postnatal chest X-ray and echocardiography confirmed dextroversion with normal cardiac anatomy and function. No associated anomalies were found. The patient remained asymptomatic and was stable at 3-month follow-up.
CLINICAL DISCUSSION: Isolat

Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is an extremely rare congenital abnormality in which the positions of the body's organs are mirrored. It can be accompanied by dextrocardia, where the heart is located in the right thorax with its apex pointing to the right side of the body. Its rarity poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, particularly in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). We report the case of a 74-year-old woman who presented with dyspnea. Her medical history included hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, and dextrocardia with SIT, incidentally diagnosed at age 45 foll

Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (CC-TGA) may occur in isolation or may be associated with defects in the ventricular septum and stenosis of the pulmonary outflow tract. A large ostium secundum atrial septal defect (ASD) as the only other anomaly is rare in CC-TGA. We report successful use of an Amplatzer septal occluder to close an ASD in a patient with visceral situs inversus, dextrocardia, and CC-TGA.

INTRODUCTION: Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation (PPVI) offers a minimally invasive alternative to surgical valve replacement in patients with right ventricular outflow tract dysfunction. However, valve malposition or migration can occur, necessitating surgical retrieval.
CASE PRESENTATION: We report a 16-year-old male with situs inversus dextroposition, mirror-image dextrocardia, and repaired Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), who developed severe pulmonary regurgitation and underwent PPVI using a MyVal valve in another hospital. Post-procedural imaging revealed valve malposition at the right

Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries is a rare congenital heart defect that may remain undiagnosed well into adulthood. We present the case of a 71-year-old male with dextrocardia and exertional dyspnoea, initially diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension. Further evaluation revealed an underlying congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries. This case highlights the importance of considering CHD in older adults with unusual cardiac findings.

The coexistence of multiple complex congenital cardiac anomalies in a single infant - particularly unbalanced Atrioventricular Septal Defect; Double Outlet Right Ventricle; Infracardiac Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection, situs inversus, and pulmonary hypertension - is exceptionally rare and presents significant surgical and physiological challenges. A full-term male neonate was diagnosed at 25 days of age with this rare combination of defects. Despite low-flow oxygen, the baseline oxygen saturation remained at 60%-65%, and growth was severely impaired. Initial management at a tertiar

Dextrocardia with situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare congenital anomaly involving complete mirror-image reversal of thoracic and abdominal organs, which may complicate diagnostic evaluation and management despite often being benign. We report a 45-year-old Ethiopian woman with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension who presented with dry cough, right-sided pleuritic chest pain, dyspnea, and low-grade fever. Examination revealed respiratory distress and a right-sided cardiac apex, while laboratory workup demonstrated anemia, impaired renal function, and proteinuria. Imaging confirmed SIT

BACKGROUND: Congenital cardiac anomalies present unique challenges for adult cardiac electrophysiologists, particularly when attempting complex ablation procedures.
CASE SUMMARY: We report the case of a 60-year-old male with situs inversus totalis who presented with symptomatic, high-burden premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) refractory to medical therapy. Using reversed (mirror-image) precordial lead placement, high-definition 3D electroanatomic mapping, and intracardiac echocardiography, successful radiofrequency ablation was achieved using a completely zero-fluoroscopy approach.

Dextrocardia occurs in approximately 1 in 10,000 live births and is frequently dismissed as an incidental anatomic variant, particularly when accompanied by situs inversus totalis and a structurally normal heart. Ultimately, dextrocardia reflects a disruption of embryonic left-right axis determination. While situs inversus totalis is often associated with relatively low rates of congenital heart disease, dextrocardia with situs solitus or situs ambiguus is more likely to occur with complex structural abnormalities. Such congenital conditions include single-ventricle physiology, which can requi

BACKGROUND: Catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with dextrocardia, complete situs inversus, and interrupted inferior vena cava is technically demanding because of mirror-image cardiac anatomy and the absence of femoral venous access. Pulsed field ablation (PFA), a nonthermal and tissue-selective modality, may offer advantages in such challenging conditions.
CASE SUMMARY: A 53-year-old man with dextrocardia, complete situs inversus, and interrupted inferior vena cava with azygos continuation had previously undergone catheter ablation via the internal jugular vein. Three

OBJECTIVES: Intraventricular tunneling is a pivotal step in biventricular or 1.5 ventricle repair of complex congenital heart disease, conventionally reliant on surgeon's intraoperative inspection and judgement. We evaluated novel assistive processes and translational tools for aiding intraventricular tunneling during complex surgical repairs using 3-dimensional virtual reality and 3-dimensional printing technologies.
METHODS: Computed tomography data of prospective complex congenital heart disease cases considered for biventricular/1.5 ventricle repair with intraventricular tunneling were co

INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: Dextrocardia with complete atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) is an exceptionally rare congenital cardiac anomaly. Mirror-image cardiac orientation adds substantial surgical complexity and requires detailed preoperative planning in accordance with national congenital heart disease management guidelines.
CASE PRESENTATION: We report the case of a 1.4-year-old male infant who presented with poor weight gain, recurrent respiratory infections, and intermittent cyanosis. Imaging studies confirmed dextrocardia with situs inversus totalis, complete AVSD with a common

BACKGROUND: Dextrocardia with situs inversus totalis is a rare congenital anomaly that complicates diagnosis and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute coronary syndromes due to mirror-image anatomy.
CASE SUMMARY: A 50-year-old man with situs inversus totalis presented with severe angina, syncope, and markedly elevated troponin (non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction). Initial electrocardiogram (ECG) showed right axis deviation and atypical R-wave progression. Lead reversal confirmed ischemic changes. Coronary angiography revealed complete right coronary artery occlusion a

Scimitar syndrome is a rare congenital cardiopulmonary anomaly with marked anatomical and clinical heterogeneity, and long-term outcome data remain limited. We reviewed our single-center experience over a 33-year period. Patients evaluated between 1992 and 2025 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 104 patients were included, with female predominance (63, 60.6%). The median age at first presentation was 0.4 years (IQR 0.0-16.7; range 1 day-68 years) with 59 patients (56.7%) presenting during infancy. At last follow-up, the median age was 18.5 years (IQR 8.7-30.6; range 60 days-70 years), w

AIMS: Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (ccTGA) is a rare congenital heart defect characterized by atrioventricular and ventriculoarterial discordance and frequently associated with heterogeneous anatomical anomalies. This variability makes surgical indication and strategy particularly complex, requiring accurate preoperative anatomical and functional assessment. We report four paediatric patients with complex ccTGA who underwent anatomical repair at our institution between July 2022 and March 2024. Associated findings included dextrocardia, situs inversus, ventricular
