The closure of atrial septal defects through right-sided limited posterior thoracotomy has been well established in selected subsets. We present a case of large ostium secundum atrial septal defect, pulmonary valvar stenosis, absent right superior vena cava, and isolated left superior vena cava draining to right atrium via coronary sinus. The child successfully underwent total correction through limited posterior thoracotomy with necessary modifications of intraoperative steps.

Hepatic vena cava syndrome, also known as membranous obstruction of inferior vena cava (IVC), was considered a rare congenital disease and classified under Budd-Chiari syndrome. It is now recognized as a bacterial infection-induced disease related to poor hygiene. A persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is a rare, under-recognized congenital anomaly. The PLSVC is incidentally discovered during central venous access procedures when access is obtained from the left internal jugular vein. Stenosis is a critical problem in the long-term efficacy of tissue-engineered vascular grafts (TEVGs). The Senning procedure is an operative technique for atrial inversion in congenital heart anomalies. We sought to evaluate our contemporary outcomes employing this technique. A retrospective analysis of all patients who underwent the Senning procedure at our institution was performed. Hospital records were reviewed, and follow-up data were obtained to evaluate outcomes.
