Sarcomas represent only 2%-3% of all female genital tract malignancies. Only 10% occur outside the uterus (vulva, vagina, ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterine ligaments). The morphology of these tumors is sometimes confusing. Sarcomas are often not diagnosed before they reach a very advanced stage. A large percentage of sarcomas occur in very young women. Treatment is not satisfactory and the prognosis has remained bad despite the use of chemotherapy for some tumors (e.g. embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma). We report the first case of persistence of the Müllerian duct associated with transverse testicular ectopia and a supernumerary ectopic epididymis in the same hemiscrotum. The patient is a thirty-year-old man with azoospermia. Uterine and Fallopian tube structures were clearly recognizable within the Müllerian remnants. The ectopic supernumerary epididymis was detected at the lower pole of one of the two testicles and had to be removed surgically.

A primary malignant mixed Mullerian tumor (MMMT) was found in the wall of the rectum of a 67-year-old female. The uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries had been previously excised for benign disease. The tumor was associated with foci of benign endometriosis. A literature review of extragenital MMMTs indicates that these are extremely rare tumors. This case supports the theory that endometriosis may serve as a progenitor to extraendometrial malignancy.

From 1964 through 1983, 47 patients with a mean age of 63 years underwent primary treatment of fallopian tube carcinoma. Vaginal bleeding, abdominopelvic pain or pressure, and a palpable pelvic mass (or masses) were frequent retrospective clinical associations. Vaginal adenosis was evaluated in 41 women, all of whom had been born prior to the diethylstilbestrol (DES) era, and compared with the adenosis commonly encountered in DES-exposed progeny. Twenty five patients were operated on for isthmic tubal occlusion. In 15 cases (60%) the etiology of this lesion was salpingitis isthmica nodosa.
