Objective: To investigate the pathologic features of gonadal tissues of disorders of sexual development (DSD) in children. Methods: Fifty-three cases of gonadal developmental disorders were collected from July 2015 to August 2017 at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center. PURPOSE: Key discoveries of recent years comprise detection of telocytes. These cells of connective tissue have extremely long cytoplasmic processes through which they form functionally connected spatial networks. Adnexal masses in children encompass a variety of lesions of the ovaries and fallopian tubes, including ovarian cysts and tumors (benign or malignant), fallopian tube cysts and abscesses, paratubal cysts, and endometriomas.
