The clinico-pathological features of 11 examples of a rare group of uterine neoplasms composed of both epithelial and stromal components are reported. The patients complained of abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge. Two of the tumours arose in the cervix, seven in the endometrium and two from both, forming large polypoid masses projecting from the cervix and/or filling the uterine cavity. The clinicopathologic features of 4 cases of Müllerian adenosarcoma of the uterine body and 1 of the cervix are reported. They showed the characteristic pattern of benign epithelial growth within sarcomatous stroma. In the cervical tumor, malignant heterologous stromal cells were also present. All the patients are alive and well, confirming the good prognosis of this neoplasm. The authors think that the presence of a malignant heterologous component probably does not imply a worse prognosis.

We report on an 8-year-old girl who presented clinically with an acute abdomen. Examination revealed a left hypoplastic kidney with its ureter draining into the lower segment of the vagina, which was closed by an imperforate hymen. Initially, we thought that pressure by the urometrocolpos on the right ureter caused right hydronephrosis. Subsequently, it was found that the right ureter followed a retroiliac course and was compressed by a U-shaped iliac artery loop at the ureteral crossing. The iliac artery extended to the level of the second lumbar vertebra.

The author reports a case of abdominal pregnancy in a woman with a malformed uterus after 30 weeks of amenorrhoes. The several different clinical abnormal features are detailed: threatened early labour, death in utero, inability to induce labour by several different methods, sub-acute obstruction and "rupture" of the membranes. Diagnosis was made only on laparotomy. Rupture of the uterine cornu had occurred in a bicornuate uterus with single cervix with secondary implantation of the oocyte in the abdominal cavity. The ruptured cornu was removed.

We report two female sibs, with severe split-hand/split-foot malformation associated with renal and genital anomalies. The patients also have severe mandibular hypoplasia and some other, minor anomalies. The relationship to the acro-renal "syndrome" in particular and to other phenotypes with similar malformations in general is discussed. Twenty-three patients presenting with infertility were found to have uterine anomalies. Eighteen had primary infertility. Six (86%) of seven patients with arcuate uterus achieved a term pregnancy. In the past 10 years three cases of pregnancy in a rudimentary horn of a double uterus and one case of haematometra were observed at the second university hospital for women in Vienna. The problems of the development of a pregnancy in the uterine cavity of a rudimentary horn which is not connected to the main uterine cavity are discussed. The clinical course of such a pregnancy is discussed reviewing our own cases and those reported in the literature.

Endometrial and tubal causes of female infertility have been sought with the use of endometrial biopsy, the Rubin test, hysterosalpingography, and laparoscopy. Hysteroscopy, used as an adjunct to these methods, can increase their effectiveness in evaluating uterine or tubal factors that may account directly or indirectly for reproductive failure. The Authors report a case-list of 395 patients vaginal specimens who were never treated with chemo-antibiotic therapy. Cell dysplastic impairments were found in 213 cases. About these dysplastic alterations, 133 are of slight type, 53 intermediate type and 27 are in advanced phase. We can say, about the last 27 cases, that the concomitance of pH greater than 6.1 in 67% of the cases and the absence of Lactobacillus acidophilus in 81.4% of the cases is not casual. Pituitary-ovarian function was studied in 2 women with congenital absence of the uterus and the vagina. Daily serum levels of luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin, estradiol-17beta, and progesterone were measured by radioimmunoassay for 1 month.
