Integrated transcriptomic and proteomic profiling implicates prostaglandin-nitric oxide network dysregulation in uterine microcirculatory impairment in primary dysmenorrhea.

BACKGROUND: Primary dysmenorrhea (PD) is a prevalent gynecological disorder characterized by severe menstrual pain. Although excessive prostaglandin activity is a recognized driver of uterine hypercontractility, the molecular mechanisms linking prostaglandin imbalance to nitric oxide (NO) deficiency, coagulation abnormalities, and impaired uterine microcirculation remain incompletely understood. METHODS: A PD model was established in 12 female Sprague-Dawley rats (control, n = 6; PD, n = 6) using estradiol valerate, repeated cold exposure, and oxytocin stimulation. Behavioral testing, biochem

A Curious "Mickey Mouse" Sign: Physiological FAPI Uptake in Uterus Didelphys on 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT.

A 42-year-old woman with invasive lobular carcinoma of the left breast underwent staging with 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT, which demonstrated intense uptake in the primary breast lesion and ipsilateral nodal metastases. Incidentally, symmetric intense pelvic tracer uptake was identified, corresponding on fused PET/CT to 2 distinct uterine horns consistent with uterus didelphys. The characteristic bilateral rounded appearance on PET images produced a striking "Mickey Mouse" sign, reflecting physiological FAPI accumulation within duplicated uterine stromal tissue. Subsequent ultrasonography confirmed uter

Concomitant Septate Hymen and Bicornuate Uterus: Emphasizing the Need for Thorough Internal Genital Tract Evaluation.

Congenital anomalies of the hymen are uncommon, and their co-occurrence with congenital uterine anomalies is considered even rarer. This case report describes a patient with a septate hymen combined with a bicornuate uterus. A teenage girl presented to the emergency department with a retained intravaginal tampon. Local examination revealed a septate hymen, and hymenectomy was performed. Over the following years, multiple transabdominal pelvic ultrasounds were performed because of persistent functional hypothalamic amenorrhea, revealing no underlying abnormalities of the internal genital tract.

Taohe Chengqi Decoction ameliorates APID-related local uterine inflammatory injury through modulation of inflammation, oxidative stress, and JNK/p38 MAPK-NF-κB-related signaling.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Taohe Chengqi Decoction (THCQD), a classical formula from Shang Han Lun, is traditionally used to clear heat, purge accumulation, activate blood circulation, and dispel blood stasis in lower-jiao blood accumulation and gynecological stasis-heat disorders. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease (APID) frequently affects the upper female reproductive tract during reproductive age, and its acute-stage uterine injury is closely linked to inflammatory imbalance, oxidative stress, and local tissue damage. Therefore, evaluating THCQD in an experimental model of APID-related

The Impact of Congenital Anomalies of the Male and Female Reproductive Organs on Infertility and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: A Review.

Congenital anomalies of the reproductive system represent a heterogeneous group of structural and functional abnormalities affecting both male and female genital organs. These anomalies typically arise during embryogenesis and may remain asymptomatic until they are incidentally identified during evaluation for infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, or disorders of sexual development. In females, abnormalities include Müllerian duct anomalies and congenital malformations of the uterus, cervix, vagina, and ovaries, such as Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome, septate, unicornuate, bicornuate

[Current status of intrauterine adhesion treatment and research progress in stem cell therapy].

Intrauterine adhesions (IUA) are gynecological disorders mainly characterized by menstrual abnormalities and infertility. At present, hysteroscopic adhesiolysis is the primary treatment for IUA; however, the postoperative recurrence rate remains high in patients with moderate to severe disease. In clinical practice, postoperative adjuvant therapies, including pharmacological treatment and intrauterine placement of physical barriers, are commonly applied to promote endometrial regeneration and reduce the risk of re-adhesion. These approaches show certain efficacy in patients with mild IUA, but
