PURPOSE: We have studied outcome of double-face preputial island flap (DFPIF) technique in severe types of hypospadias: penoscrotal, scrotal and perineal.
METHODS: We have used DFPIF in 75 boys at a median age of 1.1 years (1.0-1.5). The meatus was penoscrotal, scrotal or perineal after de-gloving the penis. The inner face of the foreskin was used for urethroplasty and the outer face for ventral skin covering. Modifications were added: proximal anastomosis was protected by a spongioplasty; in case of urethral plate transection, we anastomosed on onlay proximal and distal segments of the flap

INTRODUCTION: Correction of chordee remains a prerequisite prior to urethroplasty in children with severe hypospadias. The use of an interposition graft is indicated when significant chordee (>300) persists after division of the urethral plate. The use of free dermis or tunica vaginalis are most often used, but the use of a pre-packaged graft material is attractive with regards to efficiency. We describe our experience with single layered small intestinal submucosa (SIS), a commercially available, acellular, collagen based biomaterial, in the repair of severe chordee as part of a multistage approach to the repair of proximal hypospadias.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the clinical application of one-stage repair of hypospadias using pedicled penis and scrotal septal symphysis skin flap.
METHODS: One hundred and forty-nine cases of hypopadias were treated with the skin flap and followed up.
RESULTS: After the operation, one hundred and twenty-two cases of patients obtained satisfactory outcomes, twenty-seven cases happened urethral leakage and preputial uredema were observed, and three cases suffered from urethral-skin fistula.
