A child with multiple congenital malformations and a 46,XX,t(Bq+;Dq-)-45,XX,-B,-D,+der(B),t(Bq+;Dq-) karyotype.

A case of a female infant with malformations of upper extremities and mental and growth retardation is reported. The karyotype showed a 46,XX,t(Bq+;Dq−)/45,XX,−B,−D,+der(B),t(Bq+;Dq−) mosaicism. The clinical findings in relation to the long arm deletion of a B-group chromosome are discussed.

Möbius syndrome with Poland's anomaly.

A five-year-old boy with Möbius syndrome, Poland's anomaly, and dextrocardia is described. These malformations have not been previously reported. The propositus had ipsilateral absence of the sternal portion of the pectoralis major muscle associated with acromicria, syndactyly, brachydactyly of the index, middle, ring, and fifth finger, as well as radiological evidence of hypoplasia of the index middle and ring fingers, associated with syndactylia and absent middle phalanges.

Three further cases of triploidy in man surviving to birth.

Three triploid infants, two male (69,XXY) and one female (69,XXX) all of which survived beyond 35 weeks' gestation are described. One was stillborn due to a difficult delivery, the other two survived for a few hours only. Two were of relatively low birth weight, the other was normal. There was no evidence of mosaicism in the tissue examined. In keeping with previously reported triploid infants they showed a variety of abnormalities. From a total of 13 cases now reported the more frequent associated anomalies are low set ears, coloboma of the iris, syndactyly of the hands, a single palmar creas

Acetazolamide dysmelia in rats.

Acetazolamide dysmelia was induced in rat embryos by giving drug to mothers during days 9, 10 and 11 of pregnancy. With appropriate technique 100 per cent of deformed young could be produced. Individual anomalies were made up of one or more of 5 basic malformations—dislocation, reduction and supernumerary defects, syndactyly and synarthrosis. Right forepaws were invariably, left forepaws were less frequently and hindpaws were rarely involved. Most paws showed a postaxial to preaxial sequential involvement of digits, but on occasions digit 4 was more severely affected than the fifth digit. In a
