The case of a 32-year-old female patient with multiple malformations (hare-lip, polythelia, fibroadenoma in an accessory mammary gland) and independent of these, another fibroadenoma in the breast is reported. The fibroadenoma developing in the accessory breast around the vulva, diagnosed by means of aspiration biopsy cytology, should be payed special attention. This case also confirms the applicability in preoperative diagnostics of aspiration biopsy cytology, a method which has proved to be effective for years.

The latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap is a remarkably durable and versatile flap. Flap necrosis did not occur in any of our patients. One can safely carry with it skin segments as narrow as 3 cm, or as wide as 30 cm. The relevant literature has been reviewed and it appears that there is no doubt that in utero exposure to stilboestrol is related to the eventual development of vaginal adenocarcinoma in young females. Although cancer of other types are also prevalent, the incidence is not great and may be related to other types of drugs taken during pregnancy. Three patients with postaxial polydactyly and other abnormalities of the hands and feet, hypoplasia and fusion of the vertebral bodies, and dental abnormalities are reported. Two were sisters born to normal unrelated parents; the other patient was the male offspring of a consanguineous marriage. We suggest that this constellation of abnormalities represents a recessively inherited syndrome.

A series of 88 cases of male breast cancer was compared with 241 cases of female breast cancer randomly selected from Departmental records. Cases of male breast cancer differed significantly from control female cases with regard to stage of the disease, age of onset and liability to the development of a second carcinoma. The mammary glands of ten still-birth premature fetuses were studied histologically. In seven cases a combination of oestrogen-progesterone preparations were administered to the mother in early pregnancy for a duration of at least 3 months. In three cases no hormones were administered.
