Intravesical explosion represents an extremely rare yet hazardous complication during transurethral resection of bladder tumors. This is a case report of a 31-year-old G1P1 with deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) of the bladder. She presented with bladder spasms, dysuria, and urinary frequency that worsened during her menses. On magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), she was found to have a 2.7 cm bladder dome mass and a 1.9 cm left-sided endometrioma. Biopsy of the bladder mass by urology was consistent with endometriosis. A 75-year-old female patient with autosomal-dominant polycystic kidney disease and a history of kidney transplantation presented to the emergency department with dysuria, chills and abdominal pain. A detailed review of her medical history revealed that her acute pyelonephritis was masking a chronic abdominal pain issue accompanied by significant bilirubinemia. MRCP showed a complete cystic transformation of the left liver lobe and liver fibrosis. Consequently, the diagnosis of Caroli syndrome, a rare cystic liver disease with fibrosis, was established despite her advanced age.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Benincasa hispida possess substantial ethnopharmacological value across traditional medicines in Asia. It has been used traditionally for the management of various pathological conditions, including obesity, ulcers, epilepsy, bleeding piles, hyperacidity, haemoptysis, dysuria, and urinary calculi.
