Translating Combined Mother-Baby Interaction Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Postpartum Depression from In-Person to Digital Delivery via MommaConnect.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Postpartum depression (PPD) is a common childbirth complication that impairs the mother-infant relationship and contributes to long-term developmental challenges among children. Although PPD treatment reduces depressive symptoms, it is not necessarily sufficient to improve maternal-infant interaction. In addition, several barriers preclude timely access to care including mental health stigma, limited specialized providers, and challenges with navigating the healthcare system and securing necessary childcare and transportation. Our team developed a 12-session patient- an

Use of Doppler Ultrasound During Surgical Treatment of Intradural Spinal Arteriovenous Fistula.

Spinal dural arteriovenous (AV) fistulas constitute 70% of spinal arteriovenous malformations. If left untreated, patients typically experience progressive myelopathy, and surgical treatment remains the most definitive and curative strategy. We present an operative video illustrating the use of Doppler ultrasound during clip ligation and disconnection of a spinal AV fistula. A 73-year-old male patient presented with myelopathic symptoms with weakness and diminished sensation in his bilateral lower extremities. Neuroimaging demonstrated spinal cord edema from T6 to the conus with prominent epid

Endovascular Management of Tibial Occlusive Disease With Concomitant Metatarsal Pseudoaneurysm and Arteriovenous Fistula in a Diabetic Foot: A Limb Salvage Case.

BackgroundDiabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) complicated by critical limb ischemia (CLI) present a major therapeutic challenge, especially when associated with chronic total occlusions (CTOs) of below-the-knee (BTK) arteries or vascular lesions such as pedal pseudoaneurysms and arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs). While endovascular techniques have expanded the therapeutic landscape, such anatomically complex cases require tailored, multidisciplinary strategies to achieve successful limb salvage.Case PresentationWe report the case of a 52-year-old male with type II diabetes mellitus, end-stage renal diseas

Spinal venous hypertension secondary to nutcracker syndrome-a previously unreported cause of congestive myelopathy.

OBJECTIVE: We report a case of myelopathy associated with nutcracker syndrome. Clinical and imaging findings indicate that nutcracker syndrome caused left renal vein stenosis, resulting in spinal venous hypertension. CASE PRESENTATION: A 15-year-old girl presented with abnormal sensations in both lower limbs, followed by progressive motor impairment and bowel and bladder dysfunction. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an abnormal signal in the spinal cord at the T12-L1 level. Although she was initially diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis (ATM) and treated with intravenous steroids

High-Resolution US of the Radial Wrist: Anatomy, Variants, and Clinical Correlates.

US has emerged as a valuable imaging tool for evaluating musculoskeletal abnormalities, including radial wrist conditions. It offers high-resolution real-time assessment of joints, ligaments, tendons, nerves, and other soft-tissue structures in the region. Yet, the complex anatomy of the wrist, frequent anatomic variants, and often nonspecific clinical symptoms present substantial challenges for the clinician and the US practitioner alike. This comprehensive review provides a structured and practical approach to US evaluation of the radial wrist, designed to enhance diagnostic confidence and a

Enhancing Knee Disease Diagnosis via Multi-View Graph Representation With Multi-Task Pre-Training.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an indispensable tool for clinical knee examination, which often scans 2D stacked slices from multiple views. Radiologists typically locate lesion regions in one view, and then refer to other views to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis. However, existing computer-aided diagnosis methods fall short of identifying and fusing local regions in multi-view scans, leading to a decline in diagnostic performance and a heavy reliance on extensively annotated data. This paper introduces a novel framework that represents multi-view MRI scans as a knee graph, and conduc

Association Between Thumb Hypoplasia, Radial Longitudinal Deficiency, and Radial Polydactyly.

PURPOSE: The expression of the sonic hedgehog protein has been associated with induction of both radial longitudinal deficiency (RLD) and radial polydactyly in animal studies. We sought to investigate the co-occurrence of thumb hypoplasia/RLD and radial polydactyly in a large registry patient cohort and to investigate the clinical presentations of such patients. METHODS: The Congenital Upper Limb Differences (CoULD) registry was queried for all patients with contralateral diagnoses of thumb hypoplasia/RLD and radial polydactyly, as defined by the Oberg-Manske-Tonkin classification system, bet

Bloodpool and Late-Phase 3D-Ring CZT SPECT/CT in Freiberg Disease.

A 24-year-old woman was referred for chronic right foot pain, with suspicion of stress fracture. 99m Tc-HDP bone scintigraphy using new 3D-ring CZT system (StarGuide) was performed. Bloodpool and late-phase SPECT/CT demonstrated intense increased uptake in the right second metatarsal head, while the CT part of SPECT/CT showed subchondral sclerosis, suggestive of Freiberg disease, which was confirmed by MRI. Our case highlights the importance of including Freiberg disease in the differential diagnosis of uptake in the metatarsal head, especially in its early stages. The CT part of SPECT/CT and/

Accessory carpal bones - Scoping review with meta-analysis: Accessory bones around the scaphoid.

BACKGROUND: Accessory carpal bones around the scaphoid are uncommon anatomical variants that may mimic fractures, non-unions, or other pathological entities on wrist imaging. Despite more than a century of published reports, the literature remains limited by inconsistent terminology, unclear anatomical definitions, and variable reporting quality. This review aimed to synthesize the available evidence on accessory bones around the scaphoid and to clarify their prevalence, anatomical characteristics, imaging features, clinical presentation, and management. METHODS: We performed a combined syste

Three-dimensional gait analysis following surgical correction of proximal femoral type IV fibrous dysplasia with varus deformity.

This study aimed to analyse postoperative gait characteristics in patients with fibrous dysplasia (FD) of the proximal femur with varus deformity and to comprehensively assess limb function. We retrospectively reviewed patients who underwent surgical correction between January 2013 and October 2017. Limb length discrepancy and mechanical axis alignment were evaluated at follow-up. Gait parameters of both lower limbs were assessed using a three-dimensional (3D) gait analysis system, and the affected side was compared with the contralateral limb. Limb alignment and length were largely restored,

Trifid epiglottis in a neonate with choanal atresia and hydrometrocolpos: the third reported case and the first symptomatic neonatal presentation.

BACKGROUND: Trifid epiglottis (TE) is an extremely rare congenital laryngeal anomaly. To the best of our knowledge, only two cases have previously been reported in the literature. Both of them have been incidentally detected and associated with polydactyly. CASE PRESENTATION: We report the third known case of TE in a two-day-old female neonate who was admitted to the emergency department due to abdominal distension, oliguria, and poor feeding within the first 24 h of life. Examination revealed stridor during crying, left postaxial polydactyly, right syndactyly, and an anteriorly displaced anu

Beyond the Surface: Bone Marrow Oedema as a Hidden Marker of Pain in Haemophilic Ankles.

INTRODUCTION: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the gold standard for assessing haemophilic arthropathy using the IPSG scale. However, MRI-detected abnormalities often correlate poorly with pain, suggesting that structural damage alone cannot explain symptoms. Assessing additional features such as bone marrow oedema (BME) may better capture disease activity and pain in people with haemophilia (PwH). AIM: This study aimed to evaluate the presence and extent of bone BME in the ankles of PwH, assess the reproducibility of MRI scoring for BME and IPSG, and examine correlations between MRI findi

Comprehensive ultrasound assessment of thumb metacarpophalangeal collateral ligament injuries reveals frequent concomitant abnormalities.

INTRODUCTION: Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) tears of the thumb are well-recognized injuries, while radial collateral ligament (RCL) and dorsal extensor-related abnormalities are less frequently studied. The pattern of concomitant ultrasound abnormalities in patients after thumb trauma is not well documented. The aim of this study was to characterize concomitant UCL, RCL, and dorsal extensor-related abnormalities within a selected cohort referred to thumb ultrasound after trauma, and to explore associations with injury mechanism. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective review was performed of

Ultrasound improves preoperative Wassel classification of thumb polydactyly in children.

BACKGROUND: The Wassel classification for thumb polydactyly relies on radiographs; however, invisible unossified cartilage in young children can lead to misclassification and suboptimal surgical planning. This study evaluated whether ultrasound improves the accuracy of polydactyly classification compared with radiographs. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This prospective study included 31 cases of radial polydactyly initially classified as Wassel type IV or type II based on radiographs. All patients underwent preoperative ultrasound to identify potential cartilaginous connections between the proximal a

Valenti Arthroplasty with a Dermal Graft Spacer in Stage III-IV Freiberg's Disease: A Case Report.

Freiberg's disease is a rare condition involving osteochondrosis and collapse of the metatarsal head, often leading to chronic pain and impaired mobility. Traditional surgical treatments such as osteotomies, autografts, and joint replacements can relieve symptoms but may compromise joint mechanics or cause donor-site complications. In this case, a 23-year-old woman with Smillie stage 3-4 disease underwent a Valenti-type resectional arthroplasty combined with a folded, decellularized dermal graft spacer to preserve joint function. The procedure resulted in rapid recovery, with pain-free motion

A study of examinations and surgical determinants of degenerative cervical myelopathy: the relationship between mri quantifications and motor evoked potentials.

INTRODUCTION: Motor evoked potentials measured by transcranial magnetic stimulation (Tc-MEPs) have been used to evaluate functional impairment in degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM). Central motor conduction time (CMCT), calculated from the difference between MEP latency and peripheral nerve conduction time, is often prolonged in patients with DCM, providing a quantitative indicator of neurological dysfunction. Intramedullary signal changes on MRI at sites of spinal cord compression are also observed; however, few studies have quantitatively assessed these changes. This study, quantified in
