We present a case report of a patient with a history of aggressive thyroid cancer managed by surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation to the neck. A year later, he presented with hemoptysis. Endobronchial ultrasound showed a pulsatile vessel; however, a CT scan and conventional angiogram were negative. BACKGROUND: Liquid embolic agents (LEAs) such as ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) are utilized for middle meningeal artery embolization (MMAE) for chronic subdural hematomas (cSDH). LEAs may be advantageous for MMAE as they are permanent and can penetrate the microvasculature of the subdural membranes. LEA surface area (SA) can quantify this penetration. Retinal ischemia is a significant factor in various vision-threatening diseases, but effective treatments are currently lacking. This study explores the potential of stem cell factor (SCF) in regulating the neurovascular unit as a therapeutic intervention for retinal ischemic diseases. A chronic retinal ischemia model was established in Brown Norway rats using bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (BCCAO). Subsequent SCF treatment resulted in a remarkable recovery of retinal function, as indicated by electroretinogram, light/dark transition test, and optokinetic head tracking test results.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Radiotherapy (RT) can damage neck vessels in patients with head and neck cancer (HNC). This study investigated the early effects of RT on carotid artery, including the internal media thickness (IMT) and carotid plaques of the common carotid artery (CCA).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study included 69 patients with HNC who underwent RT at the First Hospital of Jilin University from March 2017 to September 2022, and 69 healthy participants as controls. Color Doppler ultrasound (CDUS) of the carotid artery was used to measure the CCA IMT and plaques.
