Managing abdominal wall defects in contaminated surgical fields is particularly challenging in super morbidly obese patients with severe infection. We report the case of a 49-year-old man (BMI 54, 195 kg) who presented in septic shock with necrotizing fasciitis of the abdominal wall secondary to perforated diverticulitis and colocutaneous fistula. BACKGROUND: Diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) refers to the separation of the rectus abdominis muscles along the linea alba. Though traditionally viewed as a postpartum cosmetic issue, DRA has functional implications and affects both women and men.
METHODS: A comprehensive literature review was conducted using PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, identifying 355 relevant publications over the past two decades. Priority was given to high-quality studies including randomized trials, observational studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.

However, up to 50 % of those with proximal hypospadias do not respond to testosterone due to receptor resistance or failure of testosterone conversion to di-hydro testosterone (DHT).
