Management of Patella Fractures Non-amenable to Tension Band Wiring: Series of Nine Cases with Review of Literature.

INTRODUCTION: Isolated coracoid process fracture of scapula is a rare. Usually, it happens along with the rotator cuff tear, dislocation of acromioclavicular joint, or glenohumeral joint. Displaced fracture will cause impairment of upper limb movement. Since there are very low numbers of cases reported so far, the treatment is still controversial. CASE REPORT: We report a case of a 42-year-old male laborer with motor vehicle accident, following which he had pain and restricted movements on his left shoulder. On examination, Glasgow Coma Scale 15/15 and left shoulder had swelling and tendernes

A modified surgical technique for reconstruction of an acute acromioclavicular joint dislocation.

We report a modified surgical technique for reconstruction of coracoclavicular and acromioclavicular ligaments after acute dislocation of acromioclavicular joint using suture anchors. We have repaired 3 consecutive type III acromioclavicular dislocations with good results. This technique is simple and safe and allows anatomical reconstruction of the ligaments in acute dislocations.

A modified method of coracoid transposition for the treatment of complete dislocation of acromioclavicular joint.

OBJECTIVE: To report a new method of coracoid transposition for the treatment of complete dislocation of acromioclavicular joint and to evaluate its efficacy. METHODS: We modified Dewar's surgical method as follows: (1) Two small incisions, a transversal incision on the acromioclavicular joint and a longitudinal incision on the coracoid, were made instead of a conventional large arc incision from the acromion to coracoid. (2) The foreign body in the acromioclavicular joint was cleared out. The chondral surface at the lateral segment of clavicle was resected to form a pseudarthrosis and meanwh

[Surgical treatment of the dislocation of acromioclavicular joint, therapeutic results in acute and inveterate injuries.].

The authors present an outline of the current literary sources which broaden the view of the issues of acromioclavicular dislocation. They compare the results of surgical treatment in acute and inveterate iniuries and state that the surgical treatment in indicated cases of acute injuries brings better results as compared to conservative treatment and that the results of surgical treatment of inveterate cases are markedly better than pre-operation findings, however, worse in comparison with the surgical treatment of acute dislocation. Surgical procedure is determined for the incidence of calcif

[Methods for evaluating surgical treatment results of complete acromioclavicular dislocation].

Results of operative treatment for complete dislocation of acromioclavicular joint in 15 patients are presented. Joint reconstruction was performed according to Henry's modified method supplemented with supraclavicular deltoid and trapezius muscles suture. Three different scales were used for functional assessment of the shoulder girdle at the follow-up. Depending on evaluation method used, different results of treatment were achieved. The evaluation scale proposed by Taft et al is, in our opinion, the most useful one in clinical practice.

[Study of the tracking movement in dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint].

Tracking movement in the scapular plane and electromyograms from the upper trapezius, rhomboideus, middle deltoideus, and pectoralis major muscles were analyzed during the movement in ten subjects who had grade II dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint. The purpose of this study was to clarify whether or not the dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint affects the rhythmic movement of the shoulder joint, and to evaluate objectively fatigue on the shoulder girdle of the dislocated side. The dislocation of acromioclavicular joint affects the fast rhythmic movement of the shoulder joint fro
