INTRODUCTION: Medial epicondyle fracture dislocations are common in the pediatric population; however, they often lead to favorable patient outcomes. Rarely, the median nerve (MN) can be trapped within the joint space or fracture upon reduction. If the nerve is trapped within the fracture, the MN slowly gets compressed as the fracture heals, leading to progressive deficits in motor function and sensation. These symptoms present as a mixture of pain, numbness, weakness, and paresthesia in the distribution of the MN. Therefore, careful monitoring of the patient post-reduction is crucial in makin

We report a young man in his 20s who fell from the roof of his house and sustained injury to his left hand. Physical examination and radiographic evaluation revealed closed dislocations of the second, third, and fourth metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint with fractures of the bases of the third and fourth metacarpals and the base of the proximal phalanx of the middle finger. The injury was managed with closed reduction and splintage with an uneventful outcome. Multiple MCP joint dislocations are rare, and there are only a few reports of closed reduction with a good outcome.

BACKGROUND: Managing complex fracture-dislocations of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint poses significant clinical challenges, necessitating innovative treatment strategies.
CASE DESCRIPTION: This case report highlights the successful treatment of a severe PIP joint fracture-dislocation in a 49-year-old male carpenter who sustained a traumatic laceration to the right index finger. The injury's complexity led to the pioneering use of an osteochondral autograft from the patient's second toe proximal phalanx, marking a novel approach in autologous tissue utilization for joint reconstructi

BACKGROUND: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment neuropathy that occurs when the median nerve is compressed within the carpal tunnel. Electromyography (EMG) is accepted as the most frequently used and important diagnostic method for CTS. Recently, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has begun to be used in CTS patients to directly visualize the median nerve and examine the changes occurring in the nerve structure.
OBJECTIVES: In this study, the area of the median nerve was measured at various levels in the wrist in patients with CTS using MRI, examining its relationship wit

BACKGROUND: The volume and frequency of throwing activity are among the most significant risk factors for developing overuse injuries in youth athletes. Despite introducing systematic guidelines for 'pitch counts,' throwing injuries continue to rise. Using technology to create enhanced measures of workload exposure in this unique population of athletes may help generate more effective and personalized injury prevention strategies.
HYPOTHESIS: The wrist-worn sensor system (PhySens) will: 1) accurately detect and differentiate throwing activity from other baseball movements, and 2) accurately p

Aquatic sports, such as swimming, water polo, diving, and artistic swimming, combine endurance, strength, and flexibility with unique biomechanical demands, often leading to sport-specific injuries. Although water is a low-impact environment, the repetitive and high-intensity movements required in these disciplines increase the risk of both acute and overuse injuries. Swimmers frequently encounter shoulder overuse syndromes, water polo players face injuries from throwing and physical contact, and divers are at risk for spinal and wrist injuries during entry impacts. Imaging modalities, particu
