Raynaud's phenomenon may be primary (idiopathic) or secondary. Primary Raynaud's phenomenon is very common in young women, especially in cool climates. Treatment of patients with primary disease is usually much more successful than treatment of patients with secondary disease. Most patients respond to conservative measures. Reassurance that they will not lose digits or limbs is helpful. They should avoid instigating vasospastic attacks, which are usually caused by cold plus pressure on the digits. We report an 81-year-old female with a heterozygous factor V Leiden mutation who developed purpura fulminans. Digital necrosis, a characteristic clinical feature of purpura fulminans was prominent. Purpura fulminans is more common in children and adult cases are rare. Of eight reported cases of purpura fulminans resulting from a heterozygous factor V Leiden mutation recorded in the literature, only two were in adults: 40 and 42 years of age, respectively. This is the first report of this condition arising in a patient in her eighties.

Patients with short congenital amputations below the elbow often function as if they have had a disarticulation of the elbow. We have reviewed the results in six patients who had lengthening of such stumps by the Ilizarov technique to improve the fitting of prostheses. The mean lengthening was 5.6 cm (3.4 to 8.4), and in two patients flexion contractures of the elbows were corrected simultaneously. Surgery of ingrowing toe nails are one of the most frequent operations in ambulatory practice. It is well known that a minor operation which relieves the patient of his complaints is appreciated more than the most complicated operation. Based on the article of Dr. Krticka we wish to present our own modification of an operation called Klapp's operation. Non-ocular melanoma is considered to be a rare neoplasm in cats; however, more than 150 cases have been reported in the literature since 1961. The objective of this study was to characterise this tumour better by evaluating case outcome and survival data for cats with melanoma and to compare clinical and histopathological findings with those of previous reports. BACKGROUND: Phantom limb pain (PLP) is a common complication after amputation, affecting up to 80% of the amputee population. However, only 5% to 10% of amputees have severe PLP impacting daily function. The majority of research conducted on the aftermath of amputation understandably concerns itself with its most distressing aspects. Pachydermoperiostosis (PDP), a rare genodermatosis, occurred in a 38-year-old Indian male. He presented with progressive thickening of the skin on the face and scalp of 15 years duration.
