CASE REPORT: Quincke sign manifested on the wrist of a young healthy man. The patient had self-treated with topical antibiotics and steroids for a second-degree burn, but then developed contact dermatitis followed by cellulitis. He presented to the emergency department with a "blinking" effect of the skin lesion.
CONCLUSION: The "blinking" effect is the result of focal subcutaneous arterial dilatation in the zone of subcutaneous inflammation.

OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to develop a multisource surveillance system for work-related burns.
METHODS: For 2009, records about work-related burns were obtained from Michigan's 134 hospitals, the Workers' Compensation Agency, the state's sole Poison Control Center, and death certificates. Surgical treatment of idiopathic postmenopausal osteoarthrosis of the trapeziometacarpal joint with the Epping resection arthroplasty was performed in 57 cases in 49 women.
