Forty-three patients with skin diseases of poorly defined natures, often related to lengthy periods of hospitalization, were treated for 10 days with a combination of three creams, the active ingredients of which were beclomethasone dipropionate (0.025%), ketoconazole (2%) and sodium fusidate (2%), respectively. Positive results were obtained in 81.4% of the patients treated with good remission of symptoms and good healing of initial lesions. Local tolerance was excellent, and no adverse effects were observed.

Forty outpatients with skin diseases were treated with an extempore combination of three creams, the respective bases of which were beclomethasone dipropionate, sodium fusidate and ketoconazole. Forty-two patients undergoing cryosurgery for skin diseases were treated by means of the simultaneous application of three creams, the respective bases of which were beclomethasone dipropionate, sodium fusidate and ketoconazole. The treatment produced excellent results, preventing bacterial and/or mycotic superinfections and relieving the edema and erythema caused by the operation in 97.6% of cases. Local tolerance was optimal in all cases; no adverse reactions of any kind being reported.

Notions on the molecular mechanisms of anesthesia are presented. The chemical characteristics are given for main representatives of certain groups of local anesthetics with peculiarities of their membrane-tropic action mentioned. The effect of local anesthetics on the synaptic transmission, membrane enzymes, ion transport through the cell membranes is considered simultaneously with the anesthesia phenomenon on the basis of the data available in literature and results of the authors' investigations.

Thirty-eight patients suffering from dermatological conditions of various natures were treated by means of the simultaneous application of a combination of three creams, the bases of which were sodium fusidate, ketoconazole and clobetasone butyrate respectively. Positive results, in the form of remission of symptoms, were obtained in 86.7% of the cases. Local tolerance was excellent in all cases and no adverse reactions were observed.

They are concerned with diaper dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, scabies and pediculosis. Special attention is given to topical steroid therapy in seborrhoeic and atopic dermatitis and to the possible neurotoxic side-effects of Lindan, the most effective substance against scabies and pediculosis.

The effect of ethonium, a local anesthetic, on the membrane preparations of brain N+, K+-ATPase was studied by fluorescent, radioisotopic, electron-microscopic and electrophysiological methods. Ethonium is established to affect the formation of an intermediate phosphorylated product and has no pronounced destructive effect on the membrane. It changes the fluorescence intensity of 2-toluidinonaphthalen-6-sulphonate (TNS), astrafloxin (AF) and fluorene probes in a suspension of the Na+, K+-ATPase preparations, which evidences for ethonium-induced changes in the structure of membrane fragments.
