BACKGROUND: Lingual tonsil hypertrophy (LTH) is increasingly recognized as a contributor to upper airway obstruction in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). While several etiological factors have been proposed, the potential role of prior palatine tonsillectomy remains understudied in adult OSA populations.
