AIM: To clarify the possible role of accidental asphyxiation/suffocation for infants in shared sleeping situations.
METHODS: As it has recently been shown that there is an association between maternal obesity and sudden unexpected infant death (SUID) an index was calculated by dividing parental body mass index (BMI) by the shared sleeping surface area.
RESULTS: A much higher index was derived for an obese individual on a narrow sleeping area such as a sofa (50) compared to a thin adult on a queen-sized mattress (5).

Postmortem CT (PMCT) is widely used in forensic investigations to determine the causes of death and is particularly effective in trauma cases and for detecting foreign bodies such as gas or metallic fragments. INTRODUCTION: This study examines suicide among older adults in Honduras over a 15-year period (2008-2022).
METHODS: Data were collected from the National Violence Observatory attached to the University Institute of Democracy, Peace and Security of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (ONV-IUDPAS-UNAH), and 593 suicide cases were analyzed with a quantitative approach of descriptive scope, to identify suicide decedent characteristics and patterns in the cases.

Pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysms (PAPs) are rare and can occasionally be overlooked as a cause of hemoptysis. The rupture of PAPs may lead to severe and massive hemoptysis and asphyxiation, necessitating prompt and accurate diagnostic measures, including CT angiography, in conjunction with clinical awareness for adequate management.
