Effects of Vibration Resistance Exercises on EMG and Skeletal Muscle Hemodynamics.

Objectives: Past studies show that vibration can stimulate muscle activity and improve muscle performance. However, further verification is needed on the effects of different vibration frequencies combined with different muscle strength exercise intensities on EMG activity and skeletal muscle hemodynamics. Methods: We recruited 27 male college athletes for 40%, 60%, and 80% maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) tests at the vibration frequencies of 0 Hz, 10 Hz, 20 Hz, and 30 Hz. We collected EMG activity signals using wireless EMGs and skeletal muscle hemodynamic parameters using a near-infrared

Semi-experimental equilibrium (re SE) and theoretical structures of hydrazoic acid (HN3).

Hydrazoic acid (HN3) is used as a case study for investigating the accuracy and precision by which a molecular structure-specifically, a semi-experimental equilibrium structure (re SE)-may be determined using current state-of-the-art methodology. The influence of the theoretical corrections for effects of vibration-rotation coupling and electron-mass distribution that are employed in the analysis is explored in detail. The small size of HN3 allowed us to deploy considerable computational resources to probe the basis-set dependence of these corrections using a series of coupled-cluster single,

The effect of vibration on kinematics and muscle activation during cycling.

Vibration has the potential to compromise performance in cycling. This study aimed to investigate the effects of vibration on full-body kinematics and muscle activation time series. Nineteen male amateur cyclists (mass 74.9 ± 5.9 kg, body height 1.82 ± 0.05 m, Vo2max 57 ± 9 ml/kg/min, age 27 ± 7 years) cycled (216 ± 16 W) with (Vib) and without (NoVib) vibration. Full-body kinematics and muscle activation time series were analysed. Vibration did not affect lower extremity joint kinematics significantly. The pelvic rotated with vibration towards the posterior direction (NoVib: 22.2 ± 4.8°, Vib:

Impact of Local Vibration Training on Neuromuscular Activity, Muscle Cell, and Muscle Strength: A Review.

This paper presents a review of studies on the effects of local vibration training (LVT) on muscle strength along with the associated changes in neuromuscular and cell dynamic responses. Application of local/direct vibration can significantly change the structural properties of muscle cell and can improve muscle strength. The improvement is largely dependent on vibration parameters such as amplitude and frequency. The results of 20 clinical studies reveal that electromyography (EMG) and maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) vary depending on vibration frequency, and studies using frequencies of

Effects of vibration training vs. conventional resistance training among community-dwelling older people with sarcopenia: three-arm randomized controlled trial protocol.

INTRODUCTION: Sarcopenia is a chronic and progressive disease, which is accompanied by the decline in muscle mass, muscle strength, and physical performance with aging, and it can lead to falls, fracture, and premature death. The prevention and treatment of sarcopenia mainly include exercise therapy and nutritional supplement. Exercise therapy is one of the most potential interventions to prevent and/or delay the progression of sarcopenia. Resistance training (RT), one of the most commonly used exercise types, is widely used in the treatment of sarcopenia, while vibration training (VT) is a pr

Experimental Study on Mechanical Properties of Concrete at Super-Early Age.

Few studies have reported the cohesion and friction angle of concrete at a super early age. However, these two mechanical parameters are necessary to study the influence of engineering vibration on super-early-age concrete. In view of this, the mechanical properties of the super-early age-concrete are investigated in this work by direct shear testing. Firstly, the shear strength of the super-early-age concrete is measured by the direct shear experiment under different normal pressures at different times. Secondly, the cohesion and friction angle of the super early age concrete are calculated a

Increase in serum nerve growth factor but not intervertebral disc degeneration following whole-body vibration in rats.

BACKGROUND: Low back pain is a leading cause of disability and is frequently associated with whole-body vibration exposure in industrial workers and military personnel. While the pathophysiological mechanisms by which whole-body vibration causes low back pain have been studied in vivo, there is little data to inform low back pain diagnosis. Using a rat model of repetitive whole-body vibration followed by recovery, our objective was to determine the effects of vibration frequency on hind paw withdrawal threshold, circulating nerve growth factor concentration, and intervertebral disc degeneratio

Distortions of the Efferent Copy during Force Perception: A Study of Force Drifts and Effects of Muscle Vibration.

We used a finger force matching task to explore the role of efferent signals in force perception. Healthy, young participants performed accurate force production tasks at different force levels with the index and middle fingers of one hand (task-hand). They received visual feedback during an early part of each trial only. After the feedback was turned off, the force drifted toward lower magnitudes. After 5 s of the drift, the participants matched the force with the same finger pair of the other hand (match-hand). The match-hand consistently overshot the task-hand force by a magnitude invariant

Four degree-of-freedom lumped parameter model of the foot-ankle system exposed to vertical vibration from 10 to 60 Hz with varying centre of pressure conditions.

Modelling the foot-ankle system (FAS) while exposed to foot-transmitted vibration (FTV) is essential for designing inhibition methods to prevent the effects of vibration-induced white-foot. K-means analysis was conducted on a data set containing vibration transmissibility from the floor to 24 anatomical locations on the right foot of 21 participants. The K-means analysis found three locations to be sufficient for summarising the FTV response. A three segment, four degrees-of-freedom lumped parameter model of the FAS was designed to model the transmissibility response at three locations when ex
