AIMS: Limited evidence exists on the incidence of osteoradionecrosis (ORN) specifically for oral cavity (OC) cancer alone. The primary objective of this study was to determine the incidence of ORN for each subsite of the OC. The secondary objective was to analyse the risk factors for ORN development.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between 2010 and 2021, a total of 2517 head and neck cancer patients underwent radical or adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) at our centre. Of these, 254 patients with an OC primary cancer were identified and were included in this analysis.

PURPOSE: The prognostic significance of pathological depth of invasion (p-DOI) is widely acknowledged, leading to its inclusion in the clinical and pathological staging systems for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) in the 8th Edition of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual. However, radiologic assessment of DOI (r-DOI) remains challenging, and limited evidence exists regarding its correlation with p-DOI, the current gold standard. This experimental assessment was carried out to study the viscoelastic performance of crude oil-xanthan emulsions employing a RheoStress RS100 rheometer. Crude oil with a concentration range of 0−75% by volume was used to prepare the oil-gum emulsions. Two xanthan gums of Sigma and Kelzan were added in the emulsions with concentration ranges of 0−104 ppm. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common tumor of the kidney. Although RCC often metastasizes to other organs, metastasis to the head and neck region is rare, and metastasis to the mandible is very unusual. Metastases to the gingiva are uncommon. They can be a diagnostic challenge clinically because of their rarity and tendency to mimic benign lesions. We present the case of an undifferentiated small cell lung carcinoma in a 76-year-old man whose left lower gum showed a lesion similar to pyogenic granuloma. Biopsy confirmed gingival metastasis of lung cancer. We make a differential diagnosis of proliferative lesions and metastatic tumors.

We report two cases of radiation-induced sarcoma after chemoradiation therapy in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Case 1: A 40-year-old man developed a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) in the posterior floor of the nasal cavity 10 years after treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer. Case 2: A 64 year-old man developed a malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of the lower gum 10 years after treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer. Despite radical surgery, the man with MPNST had a recurrent tumor and died of the disease.
