BACKGROUND: Intramedullary nail fixation is commonly used for prophylactic stabilization of impending and fixation of complete pathological fractures of the long bones. BACKGROUND: Aesthetic and reconstructive implant-based breast operations are among the most common plastic surgery procedures. This study assessed the baseline knowledge of common breast implant-associated complications, and their influence on consideration of breast implants among adult laywomen within the United States.
METHODS: Five hundred women were recruited through Amazon's Mechanical Turk. Respondents self-reported demographics and experience with breast implants. Questions were asked addressing respondents' understanding of complications and concerns regarding breast implants.

BACKGROUND: Driveline (DL) damages are a common difficulty among ventricular assist devices (VAD). Repairing the electrical fibers inside the DL on a running pump is hazardous and requires technical expertise, which is not easily available on site. A new feature of the HeartMate3 (Abbott, U.S.A.) LVAD is a modular driveline that allows an easy exchange of the DL cord. In this report we analyze our experiences with this feature.
