A case of Hand-foot-uterus syndrome (or hand-foot-genital syndrome) is presented. Hands, feet and dermatoglyphics are altered. She have a double uterus and septum vaginalis.

Three brothers with the typical findings of the HFU-syndrome, but in addition with various degrees of hypospadias are reported. The family history otherwise was negative. The similarity of the "pattern-profile" of these cases with the mean pattern of the 11 previously reported ones is striking, as expressed by a product moment correlation of 0.83, 0.8 and 0.78 respectively. The widening of the concept of the HFU to that of a HFG-syndrome, as suggested by Poznanski et al, in 1974, is discussed.

Four individuals from three generations of a family had the Hand-Foot-Genital (Hand-Foot-Uterus) syndrome. Affected females had urologic abnormalities confirming that the latter are part of the syndrome.

Hand-foot syndrome (HFS), also known as palmoplantar erythrodysesthesia or acral erythema, is a known adverse effect of chemotherapeutic agents that most commonly presents as palmoplantar dysesthesia and erythematous plaques localized to the palms and soles. Paclitaxel is an uncommon cause of HFS and is notable for its unique presentation on the dorsal hands and feet. We present an unusual case of paclitaxel-induced HFS localized to the dorsal hands of a 66-year-old man with metastatic angiosarcoma. Early identification and management of HFS is critical to allow for continuation of chemotherap…

The hand-foot syndrome (HFS) is an erythematous skin lesion of the palma and planta of the hand and feet is most often caused by cytostatic chemotherapy. The impact on the patients' quality of life depends on the extent of the disease. The pathogenesis of the hand-foot syndrome has not yet been sufficiently clarified and it can only be treated symptomatically. We performed an extensive literature search in Medline to evaluate the current state of knowledge concerning the hand-foot syndrome and conclude with practical advice to physicians treating patients with hand-foot syndrome.

Hand-foot syndrome (HFS), also called hand-foot skin reaction, palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia, acral erythema, and Burgdorf reaction, is a dose-limiting cutaneous toxicity of many chemotherapeutic agents. Recently, the multiple tyrosine kinase inhibitor class of novel targeted therapies, including sorafenib and sunitinib, has emerged as an important cause of HFS, with 10-28% of patients treated with sunitinib and 10-62% of patients treated with sorafenib reporting HFS. This review examines the epidemiology, clinical features, histopathology, pathogenesis models, prognostic implications, and…

A 55-year-old woman on treatment with capecitabine and paclitaxel for breast carcinoma presented with history of a tingling sensation in her hands and feet with a progressive burning sensation. She also noted discomfort, minimal pain and stiffness while holding objects. On examination, there was patchy hyperpigmentation of both the palms and soles, and the dorsa of hands and feet. This was accompanied by a thickening of the skin more over the knuckles and toes. In addition there was a moist desquamation around the toes and over the palmar creases and a bluish discoloration of the lunulae of bo

Palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia, also known as hand-foot syndrome (HFS), is a common dermatologic toxicity of capecitabine. In this report, the case of a 59-year-old man with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who developed grade 2 HFS with rare genital involvement is described. This case underscores the importance of recognizing atypical genital involvement in HFS to support timely management.

Capecitabine, a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil, is an FDA-approved drug for adjuvant treatment of colon, metastatic colorectal, and breast cancer … dely used in recent years due to their relative ease in administration, the relative unawareness of Hand-foot syndrome (HFS) caused due to this drug makes it a prudent topic to be reported.

Hand-food-genital syndrome (HFGS) is a rare genetic condition. This report describes the cases of two patients, aged 33 and 15, presenting related somatic abnormalities. HFGS stems from an autosomal anomaly linked to the HOXA 13 gene. Therapeutic procedures are discussed in order to identify the best treatment approach to the patients, as well as possible conditioning genetic anomalies.

The hand-foot syndrome is a benign self-limiting condition seen in young children with sickle-cell haemoglobinopathy, usually at the time of a crisis. The authors have observed 36 cases among 4920 patients. The features and management of the condition are discussed and the published literature is reviewed.

An autosomal dominant syndrome is described in 26 members of six generations in a single family. Distal extremity malformations are characteristic and superficially resemble those of arthrogryposis, chondroectodermal dysplasia, Cornelia de Lange syndrome, Faconi's anemia or Holt-Oram syndrome. There is an absence of spinal deformity, and females of the disorder have duplication of the genital tract.

BACKGROUND: Hand-foot syndrome (HFS) is the most frequently reported side effect of oral capecitabine therapy. In addition to treatment interruption and dose reduction, supportive treatments can help alleviate symptoms. Although its efficacy has not been proven in clinical studies, certain authors report on the use of prophylactic or therapeutic pyridoxine supplementation for the prevention of minimization to be useful in preventing worsening of HFS but are no substitute for dose modifications.
CASE REPORT: We report a case of an interesting observation in a patient with pancreatic cancer rec…
